  • Not a typical video from the channel here, Luke and Joe shoot and score 90 arrows between 2 Vegas 450 rounds. They discus their goals, struggles and what they're working on here at the beginning of league season.
Luke spends some time talking about reasons for shooting indoor archery. Knowing your reason for shooting is a must! Whether its competition, to be the best in the world, to have fun, or to make constant improvements and challenge yourself, understand your purpose for doing it. This helps so much with the mental aspect of shooting and puts your efforts vs results greatly into perspective.

Just found ur channel and love it. Love watching real archers who love the sport talk about the good and the bad and not drop “sponsored” names in every 5 minutes. Keep up the good work and keep it real. 👍🏻👍🏻

Very good points! I do agree that the best way to help with target panic, is to just keep on practicing (especially around perfecting form and shot execution over) is the way to go.
Keep up the fun videos guys!

I shoot 70+ # for hunting... what would be a good draw weight to use for target archery? I was thinking i could go with 55# limbs on my Athens 38.

I currently shoot 60# with 70% L/O which gives me 18# of holding weight, the extra holding weight helps me with a much more steady bow @ full draw. It varies from person to person though.

@@MarcoR34 i have been back and forth on what to get. I want a Athens and im thinking im gonns get 55# limbs to start with. Or at least for now thats the plan

@@MikeyWoomer 55# should be great too, but I highly reccomend trying it at different letoff settings, I think letoff effects how steady a bow is @ draw dramatically, happy hunting!

@@MarcoR34 thanks brother 🤙.. i was looking at a Athens peak 38 they only go down to 80% let off. But for my first target bow im thinking 80% will be fine

@@MikeyWoomer Its always hard to recommend without really knowing you or your experience, but I do have seen a lot of customers in the same boat. Most commonly people in your situation go with 60# bows and then shoot them backed out if they want to shoot 50#, that way if they do want more holding weight, they have the option to increase poundage. When shooting indoor speed doesn't matter so back out the poundage as much as you want. At the end of the day, I see it all so there's no hard and fast rule.

Great video! My RTX had that ping sound originally. I completely removed the mod and reinstalled. I haven't had any problems since. What letoff where you shooting?

Have a few months of practice allowed you to get fit enough to shoot the PSE the way you want to or have you relapsed back to the easy setup ?

Would suggest if you struggle, then take the target off and shoot your shot at a bale and just shoot good shots, try shooting a lower power or no lens, the higher power lens helps you see the movement and the target perfectly which tends to help you assume you SHOULD BE shooting perfectly.
Low power lens or no lens and focus on perfectly executed shots. The other issue tends to be that the score is the GOAL, try looking at the score as a DIAGNOSTIC of the quality of the shot -
A GOOD SHOT will tend to score well (especially a good consistent shot)
A POOR or inconsistent shot will tend to score LESS or at least less consistently !!
Enjoy, have fun, it a game, it is not life or death !!! The targets are paper or foam !!

Tap the module and it tings right?
Add some masking tape or something like that to a small area and it'll be gone.

If you want more holding weight you might call Athens and tell them what you want and they might have a solution or could come up with one

It has been in our discussions. We've been able to get more out of it, but the feel is still different on a bow that was intended to have lower let-off vs tweaking it. The back end of the module is designed differently. That is probably more so the feeling I was chasing. Thanks for the comment
