These videos are always so beautiful of the kids meeting the family that had them stay in their home and drive them around on a day off and taking them to restaurants. And then drive them to rehearsal and events. The concert is as always for a charity and even more special to the families. It is such a touching moment for both. I do have a friend who I have communicated with on the subject and he and his wife, did two years as a family host. The first year was with Tachibana and had three girl guests. The second year was a green band from the Kyoto City area. They had the honour of the beautiful girl Kurara and her best friend staying with them.
Fabulous Entertainment all round but special mention for that Festa performance when in the most appalling conditions Gifusho gave it Everything! If you watch parades in Japan, the roadside crowds are respectful but a bit muted in their response here in the US 'though - no such problem! The kids are quite blown away by the whooping , hollering and whistling and it surely cements a memory that will live with them their whole lives - BRAVO GIFUSHO 2017!!! Stop Press! The GBA's representative for the Rose Parade 2023 will be the ALL GIFU HONOR GREEN BAND!! so some of these kids may well be back for a second helping. Thanks to the GBA for another Gold Standard Production and to MIHINOKUGORO for it's upload.
I think the reason why the roadside viewers in Japan are somehow muted is because most of them have already experienced being part in the music clubs in their school days or they are just used to seeing marching bands in Japan
@@pauldl3155 Yes Paul I'm sure you're right that there's an element of "Familiarity breeds contempt" (sic) at play but I think the main reason is that it's not in the Japanese nature to be loud and drawing attention to one's self (except for youngsters at Pop/Rock concerts LOL!) Americans of all ages, however, have no such inhibitions. Regards.
@@jaycooper2624 Your actually right about that my friend that lives in Japan also told me about being peaceful and not so loud attitude of the Japanese people. The GBA posting archive videos of the bands that participated in their programs makes me wonder and really excited about what's in store or what will the All Gifu Honor green band will bring this coming Rose parade 2023😆
Saying farewell to the host families, ah parting is such sweet sorrow! The exquisite bittersweet moment of goodbye. Will we ever meet again? Maybe not. Will we lose touch in time? Very possibly. But this is certain, they will always remember you and be remembered by you!! @@

これまで岐阜商はマーチングショーなどの動画、コロナ下の部員達の思いを紹介する動画などを見てきましたがローズの動画は初めて見ます。素晴しいですね。
