Hi everyone! I'm back with a little summer decorating in the living room and kitchen, as well as a couple great Marketplace finds and some chairs my daughter gave me🙂 Plus a big change I made for exactly $17. There's a blog post as well with links to some other ladies also sharing summer decor ideas so be sure to check that out: www.whisperingpineshomestead.net/2024/06/summer-cottage-farmhouse-decor.html Are you subscribed to the channel?? Make sure you click on the bell so you don't miss anything🙂
Anita, everything looks amazing. Watching this video just takes you back in time to a simpler time when people really valued family, home and simple pleasures. Definitely warm, cozy and come for a visit. I certainly hope this was your goal because thats in my view what you created. Blessings
I especially love your kitchen! The floral fabric takes me way back, and I love how you've managed to incorporate the stainless and create such a soft, welcoming design.
Oh thank you so much for saying that because that’s something I have hoped that I could do☺️ I realized in a lot of my favorite old kitchens, they have moved in a new stove or something as a basic upgrade that happens naturally over time, and and somehow they make them look natural☺️☺️
Thank you so much Anita for sharing your absolutely perfect and stunning home with us! It blows me away every time. Also, thank you for encouraging us to be wise with our resources and use what we already have in a new way or in a financially feasible way!
Thank you, that’s the best thing to know that someone is inspired☺️☺️☺️ I was searching for one for a while for that corner so I could not believe I found one☺️☺️
Hello Anita, what a lovely cosy colour you have painted your living room, looks lovely now but how amazing will it look in the Autumn and Winter when you have all your candles lit, ❤
❤ I'm new here. Love that lamp you painted. My go-to paint color is oil rubbed bronze. Just love it, not quite as hard as black (love that too) .it seems to soften the black somehow , more gentle on the eye, brings a depth to the decor.
Thank you Sharen, I really appreciate that! I’m really happy with the change and feel like I can make all the fabric changes that I’d like to make more easily☺️☺️☺️
Good morning Anita! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful, and inspiring, home tour for Summer! I love the Bridge lamp, and how you made it beautiful! I have an old brass one, with a pink glass shade, that has been thrill me for decades! Your videos are delightful, and one of my favorite home tours for any season! 🌸🌺🌼❤
I can’t believe I missed this video! Everything is just beautiful! I love your lamp and the new paint color, and the ladder back chairs are perfect! I noticed the calendar from 1968. Aside from being identical to 2024, is it a special year for you? It’s such a lovely, nostalgic touch. ❤
That wall color is it!!! love that one..... thanks for posting and as always I enjoy seeing all of your arrangements. You are without a doubt a talented lady!
Thank you so much! I just love it, and I always loved it on the cabinetry and comparing it to the dark gray I had, this one just seem to be perfect and a great backdrop for all of the changes I like to make with my fabrics, etc., seasonally☺️☺️☺️
Ha ha I have three small lamps on because I am shooting video, which requires much more light the way I shoot. Also I have dark chenille curtains blocking a lot of the light as well, a covered porch on the front, and the trees shade our house all summer as well. I actually prefer a darker, cool feel inside when it’s hot outside though too☺️ If you visit the blog and see the photos, though, there are no lights on☺️
Thank you!! I really needed something more neutral so I could rotate all the fabrics I like to change, and this just seems the right level of neutral and a little drama:-)
Very sweet, fresh and cozy for spring. Love those soft muted blue florals so much. And I too love ladder back or black Windsor chairs in the kitchen. I have the Windsors
Oh yay! I love those pillow covers too and I’m actually using them in the bedroom right now, but they’ll probably be in the living room for Christmas☺️☺️☺️
I know what you mean☺️☺️ I loved it too, I think the light actually in this room was the only thing that made me kind of want to change up to something more neutral, but I’ll still be using those colors in my decor☺️
Beautiful as always! Maybe I missed it at some time but I’m curious about the gorgeous old screen door in your kitchen. Did it come out of the old house & is it your pantry? Also would love to see an outdoor tour of your gardens etc. Thank you for the beautiful videos!
Yes, it did come out of the old house and goes to our pantry / mudroom / laundry space, which I never show because everything is just stacked in there😂😂. We have been planning a pantry makeover for a while so when my husband has time he’s planning to build the shelving for me and I’ll share that☺️☺️
Wow what a beautiful and warm cozy home. I have a question about the tray above the stove. I have a similar one and it’s hand painted. I have tried putting it there as well but very worried about oil and food splatter. Do you remove it each time you cook? I tried that too but it got to be too much.
Thank you so much!! I don’t really cook anything that splatters, it if I do fry something, I use the front burner and haven’t had an issue. When I cook bacon on my griddle, though, I hang a tea towel over it☺️ Also I kind of have the tray there to protect the wood☺️
I have a summer homestead recap coming Monday!! It’s been so crazy here with the garden and getting things preserved, so I’ll post Monday night then on to fall content🙏🙏❤️❤️

Yes I mentioned in the video I think or on Instagram maybe that I may brush on some bronze to it☺️
I love the gray color walls. It’s so relaxing and the new ladderback chairs. They really brighten up the dining room., beautiful as always ❤️
Thank you Sharen, I really appreciate that! I’m really happy with the change and feel like I can make all the fabric changes that I’d like to make more easily☺️☺️☺️

Thank you so much! I just love vintage calendars, and when I realized they repeat, I bought some several years back and just use them over and over:-)
I love your decorating style!!!
Thank you so much!

Very pretty, a bit dark. It’s daylight and you have every lamp in the house on. Lovely!
Ha ha I have three small lamps on because I am shooting video, which requires much more light the way I shoot. Rewiring a lamp is sooo easy and inexpensive. My best lamps are thrifted.
Yes! That was the first electrical thing I learned to do, and it definitely comes in handy☺️☺️☺️
Everything is so beautiful and comfortable and just so perfect!!! Love the wall color and the new lamp stand!! Just a gorgeous home!!!
Thank you so much Sara☺️☺️

Beautiful home!!
Thank you so much!!
Lovely! Your video inspired me to purchase some new olive green velvet throw pillows for my living room ❤
Oh yay! I love those pillow covers too and I’m actually using them in the bedroom right now, but they’ll probably be in the living room for Christmas☺️☺️☺️
I'm so sad to see the rose colored walls of your living room go!😢
The grey is nice but I loved the rose that it was before. 🤗
I know what you mean☺️☺️ I loved it too, I think the light actually in this room was the only thing that made me kind of want to change up to something more neutral, but I’ll still be using those colors in my decor☺️
Love your lace curtains
Thank you, those are vintage and came from the house of a neighbor who passed away years ago☺️☺️
