Lightning ALWAYS goes for the tallest and, usually, most conductive thing in the area below. Cell towers, skyscrapers, and lone trees in the middle of open pastures are all the usual victims. So the fact that lightning acted the way it did in that situation is quite miraculous.
I dated a girl for about 3.5 years a long time ago who was fairly involved in the UCC community. I always found that church to be very fake, very showy, very hypocritical, and very “woke” as it existed back then. It’s a church for people that want to sing the songs and listen to the Christian pop rock, but they don’t really have any faith of conviction. I would barely consider them Christian. They were early adopters of the gay and lesbian church leaders. That was beginning even 20 years ago.
In a world where the bad became the "good", this actually takes some gut to declare your faith on a platform where thousands are gonna watch it and potentially cancel you. I gotta say, I'm impressed. I can attest to what you say about reading the Bible everyday. I started doing a Bible Study that goes through the whole Bible within a year a few years ago saw what a blessing it did so I kept it up. You learn something new from His Word everyday.

I'm an Ordained Minister and student Youth Pastor/Teacher, writing to encourage you. Keep at it. Jesus said that if we are going to follow him, there will be troubles to deal with. We put our faith in Jesus and God the Father to help get us through the hard times, the attacks from the enemy. When we make it through to the other side of trouble, we will have increased and strengthened our faith, and will be better for it. I was awoken up last night to a feeling and a dream about the end times, I then felt a strong impulse to read my bible again. I read for around an hour and prayed. It felt rejuvenating to delve back in, I shouldn't stop. I won't this time
This was my church, as a child and I was baptised there. All of my relatives attended for generations and tithed continuously. My mother was a Sunday School teacher back in the 60's. A couple of years ago, I was very vocal about the direction of this church and said that my relatives would be rolling over in their graves if they saw what was happening and the minister at the time, some fruitcake lesbian, literally tried to have me arrested. As sad as it was to see this church go up in flames; a church that all of my relatives found comfort in, it was no surprise to me that this was struck down.
I stopped going to church years ago and have yet to find a proper church where I felt I really belonged and aligns with my Christian values without becoming compromised by the devil's tricks! Thank God for sending a message to the reprobates attending this desecrated building!
My dad broke from attending any formal church several years ago and decided to form a small Bible study group with his immediate community. You may want to do the same; you never know how interested people will be until you ask.
When I was young my family stopped going to church because the money "donations" was not going to our community but overseas in Somalia... And honestly I don't even know if I'm religious or not. I believe that there is a greater power than us but stopped aligning with religion. All the hypocrisy and hate has pushed me away. I'm still trying to figure it out, but personally I don't think we will truly know the truth until we're gone.

These new-age churchs, which includes the ones that explicitly fly the rainbow flag, aren't just wrong on one or two issues. A lot of them explicitly say that they don't believe in the word or that it was "misinterpreted." They have no basis for claiming to be followers of Jesus when they deny the things Jesus even said in the first place. It gets more obvious if they start talking about concepts like "christ-conciousness" or other such things that reveal that they really just worship themselves.

The lightning struck the *side* of a *short* building. Lightning ALWAYS goes for the tallest and, usually, most conductive thing in the area below.
Cell towers, skyscrapers, and lone trees in the middle of open pastures are all the usual victims. So the fact that lightning acted the way it did in that situation is quite miraculous.

I always found that church to be very fake, very showy, very hypocritical, and very “woke” as it existed back then. It’s a church for people that want to sing the songs and listen to the Christian pop rock, but they don’t really have any faith of conviction. I would barely consider them Christian. They were early adopters of the gay and lesbian church leaders. That was beginning even 20 years ago.

I can attest to what you say about reading the Bible everyday. I started doing a Bible Study that goes through the whole Bible within a year a few years ago saw what a blessing it did so I kept it up. You learn something new from His Word everyday.

When we make it through to the other side of trouble, we will have increased and strengthened our faith, and will be better for it. This was my church, as a child and I was baptised there. All of my relatives attended for generations and tithed continuously. My mother was a Sunday School teacher back in the 60's. A couple of years ago, I was very vocal about the direction of this church and said that my relatives would be rolling over in their graves if they saw what was happening and the minister at the time, some fruitcake lesbian, literally tried to have me arrested. As sad as it was to see this church go up in flames; a church that all of my relatives found comfort in, it was no surprise to me that this was struck down.

I stopped going to church years ago and have yet to find a proper church where I felt I really belonged and aligns with my Christian values without becoming compromised by the devil's tricks!

A lot of them explicitly say that they don't believe in the word or that it was "misinterpreted." They have no basis for claiming to be followers of Jesus when they deny the things Jesus even said in the first place. It gets more obvious if they start talking about concepts like "christ-conciousness" or other such things that reveal that they really just worship themselves.

@@crowe6961ell hopefully they all learned a lesson, they either follow God's ways as they should not be continuing on in that way if they want to call themselves christians. I used to follow religion but now I hit my rebellious phase and wandered away from the church as some people who grow up in a Christian family do sometimes but I have been thinking about going back to it. I'm at a point in my life where I'm not really sure what to do with life right now so I've been rethinking things and trying to figure it all out and get my life back together.
