They built a “Waste Reduction Plant” in my hometown in the 1970’s and it pretty much looked just like the one in the video. You would dump to a huge pit and the crane would scoop it into the fire. They lit the fire shortly after operations began and the fire burned continuously for 25 years ,24 hours a day, 7 days a week and they didn’t stop burning until they closed the place n the mid 1990’s. The police would use it to burn various illicit narcotics that were confiscated about once a year. Huge dump trucks with every type of drug imaginable with armed State Troopers in large numbers placed strategically around the place to keep curious onlookers away. They used to make such a huge deal out of it when it was done and I remember how there were some who wanted to climb the smokestack to get just one whiff of the smoke emanating from the burn pile. 😎
