Working on refurbishing one of these, with Harbach upgrades like a soft start module, a power supply board, and soft key unit so I can use it with my IC-718 without cooking the transceiver.
I know this is an older video but his plate voltage at 2100 is low, I'd bet if he replaced the power supply capacitors it would be back up to 2400 volts and put out more like 600-700 watts. Stock is 125uf, I replaced mine with 180uf - any higher and you want to install a soft start circuit to minimize inrush current.
Rob , i know you posted this a long time ago, what i find with these specific model is input match is way out, matched properly with 60 watts drive you will have much more power. thanks for posting your video, the amp looks really good for the years it has operated.
Please please focus the camera. "Plate current right where it orta be?" What milliamperes reading would be useful. Grid current in milliamperes please?
"Plate current right where it orta be?" What milliamperes ? In this video plate current reads about 380mA; Grid current shall always be within the white sector on the meter. Slightly rotating the "Load" knob CW after getting max deflection on the meter will reduce grid current a bit and also the splatter...
Hello Rob; Im new with Heathkit amps. I have a SB-200 but i have 2 foot switch pedals. In which two rca connectors on the back does it goes connected. ALC or ANT RELAY? Any Help!
inherited a fully functioning one of these recently with an extra pair of 572B's to go with it. Looking to find out what it is worth, anyone I would ask near me is probably going to be that buyer, so looking for an honest reply from someone that is not going to be buying it.

$250
@@ad5ez1 sold it just before Christmas for $500
@@Gantzz321that’s what they sell for on Average in July 2023.That $250 price is total BS by a TROLL or in non working condition.
Gain should be 10 db, or 10 times the drive. 50 watts in = 500 watts out.
Wrong
That’s incorrect. How would you know what it would be without knowing the condition of the tubes and voltages? 😵💫
My plate current is 2400 volts😀
Darrell Purnell You mean your plate voltage is 2400 volts.....which is the factory spec .....good one !
Just like the FL-2100 a poorly designed amplifier. The SB-220 and SB-221 are a far better design.
