  • On May 3rd 2014, the Parents & Science Initiative and the Science Outreach Program co-hosted the inaugural Science Saturday. This event was for children ages six to 18 and their parents, grandparents, and teachers, and was comprised of talks and demonstrations by Rockefeller University Heads of Lab, tours of the bio-imaging center and fabrication facility, and hands-on activities throughout the day at more than 20 Learning Stations. RU's Daniel Kronauer, Ph.D., gave two talks on the fascinating social behavior of ants and what they can tell us about evolution- one in the morning for children ages 6-11, and one in the afternoon for students ages 12-18.
