In this video I will show you how/demonstration and step by step guide on weathering corrugated iron sheets. These iron sheets I made last week from Aluminium foil (Tool of the week • How to make realistic ...
They really bring a model railroad/railway structure to life. They are really easy to make with a little practise. I will show you/how to weather the iron room with a variety of weathering washes from Vallejo, weathering chalks from Vallejo and Micro Mark.
I also use a Metal bender is by Mission Models-Etchmate 3C Precision Photo Etch bending tool, for bending the ridge cap in place. I believe this company has since gone out of business. How ever there are alternatives on Amazon.

I would love to hear from any modelers about their modelling ideas, in-particular using Traincontrol software and scenery ideas. Either email me, comment below or facebook/instagram me. I look forward in seeing you next time.
Haha I knew it was only a matter of time before someone picked that up. Good find
Lovely job and very helpful to me so I can attempt something similar. Not being critical at all but your iron sheets should always start at the bottom row and work their way up so the water runs off the top sheet and then onto the next one down and so on. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to show us how you can do this process.
Thank you for your kind comments. Yes that was an error on my part regarding the sheets.
Looks good but the over lap is backwards. The upper panels should lay atop of the lower panels. In the real world layered as shown rain water would not shed off but go into the structure.
You probably dont give a shit but if you are bored like me atm then you can stream pretty much all of the new series on instaflixxer. Have been binge watching with my girlfriend these days xD
@Maximo Mohamed Yup, I've been watching on instaflixxer for since december myself :)
Apart from the sheets being laid the wrong way it is a great video and shows how a good rust effect can be slowly bult up. Great video.
By the way I got to your site via McKinley Railway and their auto uncoupling video.
Will be looking out for your video as they appear.
Thanks Bruce. That was an early video of mine. I’m currently doing an updated video as we speak. I lay the iron correctly in this one 😂. Thanks for your kind words. I have weekly videos on the most part. Please subscribe and hit the little bell icon to be notified. I also have a website www.modelrailroadtechniques.com that you can subscribe to my email list.
Just a quick on, they are not purlons . . they are call PURLINS
Thanks Tony
Woodglut comes with very useful plans with all the details you need.
That's going to be wet inside when it rains
Haha you are second place on finding this error first 😀😃👍
