The Mitropa (from Mittel-Europa or Middle Europe) Cup was actually one of the first international club competitions. Featured clubs from Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Czechoslovakia, the Balkan states, Greece, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania and the Ukraine.
