@@plasmoasis i just consume a lot of content and bigger RUclipsrs can usually make quality content more consistently. I tend to watch people with big teams where they can upload often. I hate when I love a new channel and they go missing for years or only upload every few months. I didn't mean for it to sound backhanded but more like if the spoiled kid who only eats nuggets likes your cooking. This was the video that made me care less and just give them a shot anyways though, my subs are more diverse now than they were 6 months ago
I will say, you could theoretically make money off of fish once you get the house upgrade, since you could cook it into Sashimi. Also, once you get access to casks in the Cellar you could get Fish Ponds and sell Aged Roe/Caviar.
You didn't have to lose all of that hay at the end of fall. If you right click the hay from the feed hopper in a barn or coop it goes into your inventory. Repeat clicking allows you to have a stack of hay in your inventory which you can put into a chest. Rinse and repeat. There is no need to buy more than one silo when you use that trick as a chest can store about 36k hay!
Oh my god you're right...! I feel so stupid now hahaha. 😅 (don't come for me when I do something similar in my next Stardew challenge, because it's already recorded! 😆)
I love the new youtube algorithm, because I've been getting so many underrated channels lately (yours being one of them) The video was great. Great editing and voice over.
I get not selling raw things, but why not cook the fish meals are handled no? Still a fun watch, love your commentary btw the banter is just too funny, the animal farm challenge had me laughing so much with the elliot bits. xD
Because cooking in Stardew is notoriously bad profit-wise😆 but yes, I definitely thought about it, but by the time i had a kitchen I basically already had everything I needed and making money was no longer a priority. (i also recorded this like… two years ago so I was a bit less in strategy mood. But maybe for another challenge!)
Not only have I done a similar challenge run to this one (only can sell cooked dishes), Maru is my favorite bachelorette! That already puts you very high in my esteem. By the way, you can get Maru to dance with you at the spring dance if you 1) talk to her every day - which can be a problem when it rains and you don't have two hearts with her. and 2) give her two gifts every week and at least two loved gifts, like strawberries or cauliflower. The best liked gifts to give her are silver and gold parsnips (just about everyone likes parsnips), and quartz when you find it. Copper bars are a good last resort. Gold cauliflower and gold strawberries are best as she loves those. Don't forget you can give two gifts on the week of the Spring dance, either the Sunday 21, Monday 22, or Tuesday 23.
Oh man, I've totally thought about doing a cooked dishes challenge, but that seemed even more torturous. Awesome that you did that, though! And yeah, you can totally dance with a bachelor/ette if you put in the work, but I didn't need to rush it *that* fast, so it seemed more useful to skip that daily trip to Maru. 😉
Love the content, for a small creator, You have me sold. You have such silly humor and thats a real eye opener for me when watching youtube. Thank you for such amazing content! Ill be looking forward to more amazing work🙌
I've enjoyed your Stardew videos very much, and find them very funny. I would love to see a 1.6 version of this challenge since it has the fishsmoker which converts the fish into artisan goods.
A lot of my coworkers have been playing different challenges on stardew and they all seemed kinda meh to me, but this one actually seems like a lot of fun! Its also nice that you can play it vanilla since we all play on our switches at work. Great video, keep up the great work and content!! 💚💚
This is the first video of yours that I have watched and I must say that you are hilarious! Already subscribed and looking forward to what you make next.
Helllll yeah, I just recently bought Stardew Valley for the first time and I'm so hooked on it, so this video is perfect timing! Naturally, the hardest part as a first-time player is my gay ass trying to decide between marrying Emily and Leah (Emily's genuinely charmed me so much but she also has basically my deadname so it's a struggle 😅)
Ohh! I married Leah on my very first playthrough, but it's worth marrying Emily just so you get forever-alone-guy Clint to resent you even more. 😆 (did i mention this is a Clint hate space? This is a Clint hate space).
I really thought I was gonna go for Leah in my new playthrough but Emily really came out of nowhere and stole my heart! She reminds me the most of my partner's personality irl
Happy to hear! I have many more challenge runs planned (it just takes a while to create from start to finish) but def stick around if you like this type of video! 😄
while watching this i can't help but want to label this as a "lorax" or "thneed" challenge because of the change from doing everything homemade (humble beginnings of selling the forage you find or fish you catch) to being more processed/marketable for the larger population maybe something like "prepackaging challenge" 💭
The new machines in 1.6 would make this even better with the dehydrator and mushroom logs and fish smoker, I might give it a go for my 1.6 switch save paired with my usual no shipping bin challenge
Okok heres my plan: plant your parnsips and use them for energy. Do some quests until you have enough money for a coop. Plant rare seeds and tend to your chickens until you unlock the mayo maker. Boom thats easy proccessed goods in spring if you're good and lucky
GODDAMN THIS IS IMPRESSIVE!!! could u come up with more challenges maybe?? this seems like a super fun idea that i'd like to try on my own, in co-op (with maybe 50% money for extra difficulty ;p) and a long run for perfection with this too!
0:06 this gets me every time I come back to this. Please continue to include relevant bloopers, I love this. On a different topic; is money as the only goal the main reason none of your challenges reach perfection? Just curious mainly, as I know earning the golden clock is overwhelming to me at any rate!
A lot of the challenges I do can never reach perfection, so that's why I tend to not aim for it. Also, a lot of these challenges I created even before the 1.4 update, and then redid years later for this channel. Since perfection wasn't officially in the game yet, it never was a feasible goal. That said, I have recorded a playthrough where I do reach perfection! 😉 But it'll probably take a while before it's out, because I first need to finish another challenge video! 🙈
@ fair! Look forward to seeing that challenge as well as the challenge that reaches perfection, whatever it may be! Personally stalled on my attempt at perfection (skull caverns sucks and I’m terrible at running it) so I’m considering a challenge where I only fish for money to achieve perfection OR… some kind of twist on the hermit challenge that takes advantage of the mastery system in some way, still workshopping that due to restrictions in place to unlock mastery in the first place.
Wouldn't Planting beans be more efficient for the early parts of the run? Since they can be harvested multiple times and will add garantedd exp for farming until you get to level 4, sure they don't grow as fast but they will stack. Ok, in order for me to not come empty handed with an argument I didin't tested I at the very least ran some calcs: On 1:52 you bought 18 parsnip seeds using 360g, witch translates to only 6 beans. Beans grow in 10 days and after that produce every 3 days. The season have 28 days, so if you plant these 6 seeds day one you will harvest them 8 times, wich grants you 378 exp, instead of the 144 of the 18 parsnip, you would need 1300 exp in order to get to level 4, that's about 1/3 of the way to that. in addition the amount of crops produced would result in more things to use on the preserve jar later, meaning, more money :D
I just did the math, and you're right. For 1(60g) beans I'd get 54XP in spring, but for 3 (60g) parsnips I get 24XP. tbf, i kinda dislike the beans bc of the trellis so i suppose i just didn't think about that :')
As someone who doesn’t usually watch smaller RUclipsrs, this video was so clean I didn’t even realize at first. Keep up the good work!

Great writing. Great editing. Great jokes. Subbed on the “milfy sort of way” bit.

I tried doing this by selling really cheap 1-2 g craftables and upgrading my trashcan

Is it time to redo this on 6.9 with all the fish to process? And Legendary fish pond Roe?
You're not the first to suggest this. But I do think it'd be too easy now. 😆 If I do revisit this challenge, I want to add additional limitations.
nice video
haha love this video
Woulda upgraded my trash bin in this run so that even though the item ks uselesz,i can throw them in the trash for some money
What's the Maryland farm?
now do year 2
Wouldn't investing in green beans get you more exp per gold because they're regrowable?
You're not crafting food to sell? Fish make good food, yeah?
I actually don’t sell raw items except fish very rarely L O L
