"Stalingrad is no longer a town. By day it is an enormous cloud of burning, blinding smoke; it is a vast furnace lit by the reflection of the flames. And when night arrives, one of those scorching, howling, bleeding nights, the dogs plunge into the Volga and swim desperately to gain the other bank. The nights of Stalingrad are a terror for them. Animals flee this hell; the hardest stones can not bear it for long; only men endure."
@@luciusdomitiusaurelianus5334 It entirely was. The only reason a country the size of texas was able to last half a decade against the worlds top superpowers was due to the ruthless competancy of German forces, and not their politicized command.
The quote at 20:15 by an "Unknown soldier from the 6th Army" is probably by Guy Sajer. As I was reading the book I instantly noticed that I know those few sentences from Red Orchestra, so I thought you might want to know... :)

I swear, half of the time, the bots are using aimbot. If you don't shoot them within 5 seconds after you see them, they magically see you, and within half of a second, you're dead.
David Nelson yep sometimes they just snapshot you.Bang dead. but at least they stupid. But the stupidity makes me think singleplayer sucks.Wont give this game rating higher than 5...
You are in for a realistic shoot, and also a history nerd; THIS is the one you should get. I've referenced much on both history and weapons, and I can assure you. This one is the most accurate you can get, for a DISCOUNT! It's definitely better than CODs, for historically tragic events and accuracy. The Eastern Front was truly brutal, more so than the movies about the Western Front you saw.
I do wonder if this ending is actually historically accurate (and if so, it makes it a bit more tragic for the poor German wretches). By that I mean that, as far as I recall, before Zhukov closed the 'Kessel' around Stalingrad, most of the city was indeed in German hands. Could it be that the commander enthusing about German victory at the end is about to get a nasty wake-up call in the form of a Soviet encirclement?
That is the insinuation. Nobody but the wounded flown out would be in Germany for Christmas. The nest few months the scale of the catastrophe would unfold before their eyes.
You can, look up in Steam Guides, there are links which you can download the campaign and get Steam achievements previously locked for the Multiplayer. I just finished it now
@@Gun_Metal_Grey No, there isn't. The tutorial is broken on the first step because if you recently bought the game you don't have access to the "Beta" or "Singleplayer" version in your Steam library. You had to have bought the game a while back to get any of those.
@@titanderp I never had single player version tho, bought it like in 2016 when the SP got removed, still played the SP and got the achievements, not sure if that particular Steam guide exists or not
Broseph Stalin it's in the gold edition but i don't think it's a expansion but it's possible cause gold edition has company of heroes and company of heroes opposing fronts in one disc
If you search for "Red Orchestra 2 Soundtrack not included in OST" video this song starts at 4 minute mark. It doesn't have a name as it is just a part of the RO2 soundtrack.
“The fact that our flanks are guarded by Romanians and Italians fills me with unease” lmfao
Gee whatever could have given him that idea...lol

I loved the memoirs after each mission. To believe actual people went through such horrors.
The last mission was dated November 22nd, just days laater the 6th army would b le cut off.
@c0ya1 it's wrong bro, stop blaming Hitler for the whermact failure to win the war.

Finally a game that doesn't demonize the Germans
the narraitor is the same that give voices to company of heroes 2 (the osther/ and a history channel warplane program)
yes i think
The game doesn't demonize anyone. You can see each one of the campaigns from a different perspective, from a different source. Which is great!
The narrator is also the voice of Anton Strasser from KF2 maybe they're in the same universe

I could swear this is the same voice actor who was the german announcer if you played as the Panzer Elite in COH1
+Percy Danvers Because it's the same person
+sniperlll yeah but whats the dudes name
+Destens 2 It must be J. Grant Albrecht
It's Kai Wulff
Also the German guy in killing floor 2
so much work for something nobody ever played. messed up.
+Protester19 I played through the whole campaign. If the AI wasn't so bad it would have been so much better, but still i liked it.

He does say that he feels uneasy about Romanians/Italians holding the flanks. And historically they fell before Zhukov's attack.
