Appreciate the tips, Mr. Travis! I'm putting a small home brewery together, and your video work is more than enough for any diy dude. Keep it going, please.
thnx for thia video!!! Im going to be setting up a mobile service truck with frp and this is of alot of help!!! Im going to insulate, then put 11/32 plywood, then frp on the walls and ceiling for a nice sterile professional look
Thanks for putting up the video. I have a small job and it was helpful. I appreciate your effort. As for the negative comments, I'm sure nobody would be disrespectful to your face. Thanks again
Very good explanation. I plan to use heavy hand shears on a small job... same idea as the milwaukie , and a hand stapler instead of the air stapler. On this scale, I'd want the power tools for sure !
Thank for the video, helped me out with some ideas for toilet back splash. (In a rehab) Their aim isn't the best when they get here. 😳🤪 Destroying painted drywall. THANKS AGAIN! 👍
Grea't job! I'm thinking about using FRP to cover the plywood on an enclosed trailer. Do you think it would hold up? Gluing and using self sealing screws.
Do they make a non-glossy, non-bubbly finish variety that one could use to cover complete walls (dry wall) in a bedroom and then paint and have it be essentially indistinguishable from painted dry wall? I've got a rental where the previous owners were heavy, heavy smokers and now there are spots in some rooms where these yellowish stains always come through no matter how much Killz, primer, etc. gets used on it. The other option would be the thinnest type of dry wall I guess?
Hate & Run commenters (i call em) never seem to show what they see wrong...just trash talk & run...😏 How can I hate you... let me count the wayz... Times we live in... E N D T I M E S !!! Enjoyed learning from you...now I know what I can do with this product! 👍 subed
I was ay at a few hostels in new zealand. They all used this wallboard as well as a very nice custom made stainless steel shower pan. They looked great and were much cleaner than I could have asked for being at a hostel. I just did a shower at a rental here in CA and have three more to do ASAP. Have you ever used this wall board for an economy shower?
Simple and informative..."those who can't do...teach" lol to all you haters on this thread. But seriously, thanks for the video, it was exactly what I was looking for.
i grew up in the same business and I can already tell by the way you have it set up that you know what your doing. i am curious what part of the country you are in. i would really like to talk to you more about it. not many people out there who have done it as long or is as good as me at it
hey whats up, sorry it took me so long to reply. yes I've been installing FRP for like 18 years, so its pretty much second nature. im in the bay area in Cali currently.
What else can be used to cut this material? Metal sheers? I only need to cut one square piece to put in my garage around the sink/fawcett to protect that area from water damage. I might put this in my mudroom around my washer/dryer later on. Right now I am just getting my garage prettied up:-)
Paid by the hour? So many insults..I have been installing FRP for over 15 years and have yet to find anyone who installs it faster or with higher quality. (in my area of course). I don't claim to be the best but I do have more experience in this particular field than 99% of people who do it. Most from growing up around this business since age 2, starting at 17 and now at 34 still doing daily. I just wanted to make a little video and give some pointers, like I said, I had no idea so many people would watch it or I would have probably taken more care to not look so hokey poke...but that said, to anyone else who wants to make jokes..let's see that wallet! If you average 18-40 sheets a day, you are on my level and I gladly accept any challege. If not, don't comment, your not worth my time to respond. By the hour....haha, yea bud...hit me up for a quote. We do quality work at a higher rate of speed than most. Thanks for the positive comments, and let me know if there's any other topics you wanna see. Done a few more shitty videos that might help.
true2learn it’s not necessary, FRP is designed to take the worst abuse out there. I wouldn’t coat it myself, but if you want to it’s your time. As long as your sealed up tight in the trims with a bead of silicone, nothing will penetrate.
Have you ever used a diamond blade on a skill saw to make vertical cuts?? Thanks informative video and for anyone who thinks FRP is easy to do ..Try it before talking shit!!
One more comment...a stapler or wire Nailer will attach your trim easier faster ......by the time you drive one nail I can staple the whole piece......just saying
5x8 is not something that is commonly sold. Its always 4'x... 8' 9' 10' 12' but you could have something made I'm sure but Dont bother. If a wall is 5', I'm sure you Dont want a 12" seam and that's what your trying to avoid. So I would either split the wall in half and cut two 30" pieces, or just rip 10" off the first sheet so the next piece was 22" instead of 12". We always try to avoid using 16" pieces or skinnier
So I guess a few people have watched this. Its not very detailed, which I did intentionally, to protect my trade. But I may do an updated video with more tips and tricks. Ive got over 15 years of doing FRP.
Protect your trade?? Really bro? First, I can train a monkey to do FRP. Not rocket science here. If you are so good, why do you fear competition?? Get over yourself.
joeylana 1/4"?! Ha! I can get away with using 1/8" or 3/16" vnotch. Theres multiple ways of doing it... shoot, you can caulk stick it if you wanted to, paint roller, paint brush... you could even use double sided sticky tape. Wtf?
Why even put this on the tube ? Protect your trade what a joke , I’ve been a framer / carpenter for 30 years and there’s nothing I like to do more than to teach people the right way to do things in the trade . You must be insecure about your trade , FRP is not that hard . Will not watch this change again .
2brokenwings73 we take the safety off the gun because the nose doesn’t fit in the channel of certain materials. Like Marlite paneling in grocery stores for instance. The safety interferes. Sorry for the 5 year delay in responding! Lol
very very helpful. Drywall contractor here getting ready to take on a 27 4x8 sheet job. Commercial. Haven't done any frp in 15 years. Good video!
Great beginner tutorial I’ve done a bunch of FRP but never heard of pin nailing it… what a great idea!
Appreciate the tips, Mr. Travis! I'm putting a small home brewery together, and your video work is more than enough for any diy dude. Keep it going, please.
Appreciate the vid, friend. Gave me exactly what I needed to know. I'm a contractor, but first time to use this stuff. Thanks.
Thank you! Very informative video and easy to understand. Keep them coming!
I've watched a couple videos trying to figure this out.. this is definitely not a crappy one you did good job
thnx for thia video!!! Im going to be setting up a mobile service truck with frp and this is of alot of help!!! Im going to insulate, then put 11/32 plywood, then frp on the walls and ceiling for a nice sterile professional look
Thanks for the layout, awesome thanks bro! Blessings your way!!!
THANK YOUUUUU! I was getting so frustrated with my project!!!
Thanks for making it basic and not leaving out little details.
Great video keep making them.
Thank for the video, helped me out with some ideas for toilet back splash. (In a rehab) Their aim isn't the best when they get here. 😳🤪 Destroying painted drywall. THANKS AGAIN! 👍
Great video,thanks for the info.
Nice video, thanks. FRP is widely used in automotive as well with its custom mold.
Saved my life and my wallet ! Thank you sir
Grea't job! I'm thinking about using FRP to cover the plywood on an enclosed trailer. Do you think it would hold up? Gluing and using self sealing screws.
good explaination man . for real
thanks a lot for the secrets of the trade
2:44 You've been using that same bucket for adhesive for 15 years! Wow, I guess a little goes a long way. :)
Do they make a non-glossy, non-bubbly finish variety that one could use to cover complete walls (dry wall) in a bedroom and then paint and have it be essentially indistinguishable from painted dry wall?

How is the top trim applied. And is there a simple method for cutting one sheet. I don't have any electric shears.
Thanks great information
Do I need to put adhesive under the edge trim pieces? And do i need to caulk them on edges in shower area?
Did you ever find out? Curious myself
Thanks for the intro to FRP. Im insulating a reefer truck with extruded polystyrene. I want to put FRP over this. Can you suggest a good adhesive.?Thx
K J Starr Marlite Brand Oil based mastic. Comes in a 3 1/2 gallon bucket. Looks like peanut butter. Cleans up with thinner
Nonchalantly bangs a couple pinners across the room 😂😂😂
When someone says, I am not gonna give all away, it's a video you don't want to follow
have you done Polywall at all? I'm trying to figure out if you can use any side you want??

I've got a 135° inside corner... do I but end caps together, or will the inside corner piece work for that?
Quick question with the FRP and the Titebond can it be applied Outdoors I have an RV and I'm redoing the rear wall skin can I use it
It is not intended for out door use the UV brakes down the binder in the fiber glass and tends to cause swelling. I would not recommend it.

StormLaker1975 did you ever find an answer? I’m looking for the exact thing- in my garage around the sink.
How long does it take that glue to dry
my car went straight through the wall still
Thanks for the vid, I'm interested in using frp as a shower wallboard. What's your take on it ?
Marky Mark what light weight eco friendly alternative do you suggest?
So you use an 18 gauge nailer a pin nailer is a 23 gauge nail?
Paid by the hour? So many insults..I have been installing FRP for over 15 years and have yet to find anyone who installs it faster or with higher quality. (in my area of course).

Dirty Wrench Guy can the FRP panels be applied to insulation board and hold up ?
Very nice sir
How much u charge for a sheet
Totally agree with you. This information doesn’t help at all
My question is,why cant you put the adhesive on the wall first instead of putting adhesive on FRP 1st ?
Roofer turned commercial inside guy. Hey thanks. Take advice where I get it. Appreciate the vid
Hi, I am using FRP in a dog 8x8 dog kennel, can I coat it with a food grade epoxy to give it hard slick coat?
true2learn it’s not necessary, FRP is designed to take the worst abuse out there. I wouldn’t coat it myself, but if you want to it’s your time.
As long as your sealed up tight in the trims with a bead of silicone, nothing will penetrate.
I may be disorganized....but damn fast and the quality....oooowweee..
You have a lot to say. Do you install FRP or something? Or you just looking for a fight?
If you want pointers just ask bud..you sound a little bitter.
Xdragon Chaser thanks for the video! It helped out!!
Mario loves the "D"!
Nice job and thanks the pointers
Need about 90 sheets where would I buy them at the best price?
Can u use a router to go around windows?
Have you ever used a diamond blade on a skill saw to make vertical cuts?? Thanks informative video and for anyone who thinks FRP is easy to do ..Try it before talking shit!!
Where is vol. 2 ????
One more comment...a stapler or wire Nailer will attach your trim easier faster ......by the time you drive one nail I can staple the whole piece......just saying

easiest way to remove this ? it's in the bathrooms at my house. has use for fast food places but not the prettiest for a house.

Instead of electric shears, how about a utility knife?
a bit long but was informative
where are you located?
California, bay area
Travis Smith hi I need replace an frp sidewalls on my trailer I need your help please my name is manny
he should be using a 1/4 inch v-notched trowel for the glue not the one he's using
joeylana 1/4"?! Ha! I can get away with using 1/8" or 3/16" vnotch. Theres multiple ways of doing it... shoot, you can caulk stick it if you wanted to, paint roller, paint brush... you could even use double sided sticky tape. Wtf?
Please do us all a favor and buy yourself a TRIPOD to hold your camera.
Why were you able to shoot nails out of that gun where was the safety this is not an OSHA approved video lol very informative though
Dern thing just fires and fires! Haha, I have no idea how it got like that?!
too much camera movement
This is NOT the professional way to install FRP.
My 4 1/2 grinder with a diamond edge blade cuts better, easier and much faster not to mention a cleaner cut.....just saying
What a friggin mess
Learn to steady your camera
unwatchable with all the uhs too bad i really wanted to watch it
Also 15 years of doing this ? You brag to much , your the kind of person people better watch out for .joke .joke joke .
Starts with not giving all info away just basics.... Next 👎
