If you had told me back when I was watching USA up all night in 1987, that Gilbert Gottfried would be considered one of the top comedians of his day in 2019, I would have been very confused to say the least. But as it turns out, what I didn't know, was that long before USA up all night Gilbert Gottfried was one of the country's top comedians. You live and you learn. Gilbert is a National Treasure and he must be preserved in formaldehyde so that others may study him in strange and disturbing ways for years to come.
Unquestionably the best, most original, and funniest man EVER. Gilbert was a national treasure. I sure miss him, because I'm afraid the comedians coming in are going to be too wrapped up in Hollywoodesque, politically correct B*llshit. God bless Gilbert, and wherever he is, I know he's making 'em laugh.
He did not look well the last few years of his life, he really aged. I think getting fired by the insurance company really hit him hard due to losing a decent paying gig. And he was still shlepping all over the country to do comedy gigs which took a lot out of him. He was great, I always liked his act, we saw him at a comedy club and i laughed so hard. He had a nice devoted wife and two wonderful children, i hope they are well. RIP Gilbert

I love him too, but come on, would he be half as funny if he wasn't getting in trouble for it? The reaction is half the punchline.
I think Gilbert wouldn't be any fun if he hadn't frequently risked getting into trouble when it came to telling jokes.
