Hahaha 80% of americans who hear me speak Swedish thinks it is spanish…. And spanish is 2nd language in US… americans are so lost 😂
I’m from the US and I got pretty much every single one. Most of us are not as dumb as you would think
@@realhorror2024 most of you are dumb. Not all but like 70%
@@leowalzim5518Why would 80% of Americans know what a Swedish accent sounds like? There are more people any one of our 10 largest states than there are Swedish speakers in the world. How often do you think we encounter a Swedish speaker? I'm not a young man and I would estimate that I have personally met 3-5 Swedes in my lifetime. With the exception of our southern border with Mexico and a small part of our border with Canada, we have little to no opportunity practice and maintain a second language. If I were to learn French, for example, where would I ever practice it? Where would I use it in my daily life? How would it benefit me? Itallian? Arabic? Hindi? Chinese? Sure, a few times each year I would randomly encounter another speaker of that language but that's enough to neither maintain a language nor warrant learing one. Even Spanish is hard to incorporate into your life here. I live in Texas with a very large Spanish speaking population but I still seldom find myself in a position where speaking Spanish would have been beneficial with English being so ubiquitous. And yes, there an enclaves here and there throughout the bigger cities where there is more density of a particular language and culture but those are not common across the nation.
If you are looking at the situation through the lens of a European, there simply is no comparison. Many of our states are larger than European nations. The native linguistic and cultural diversity of the same square area and population of the USA in that region is exponentially higher. There are benefits there to speaking an additional language or languages that simply don't apply here or apply so minimally that it doesn't warrant the effort. Proximity and density make an enormous difference in the impact other cultures have and I don't think that can be argued. Learning a language requires a lot of time and dedication but it also requires either a passion or a purpose. If you don't have a passion for the language and you have no purpose for the language then attempts to learn that language will fail. We are all required to take a second language course in high school (the length of the program requirement varies a lot by municipality) but most of us never have a purpose for the language so we memorize just enough to pass the course but never truly learn to speak the language. Many have made the argument that it is arrogance and/or selfishness that makes us Americans choose not to learn another language but it really is more a matter of practicality.
Economies have become globalized and technology and telecommunication has become a part of every aspect of our lives. That indeed drives more necessity for multilingual employment opportunities and the ability to communicate with people all over the world via the internet provides options to practice speaking with native speakers. However, these are new developments and it will take time for culture to shift towards seizing those opportunities and filling those needs. Other parts of the world have been surrounded by other cultures and languages for the entirety of their history so it is deeply rooted in those cultures to learn other languages. But our nation has never been in a position of necessity with regard to being multilingual as a population. Add to that the fact the the most commonly spoken 2nd language in the world is English. Speakers of other languages benefit greatly by learning English but the same is not always true in reverse if your native tongue is English.
That said, you would be surprised at the number of people here who do speak more than just English. While nowhere near as common as it is in other parts of the world, it is not uncommon here either. I am working under the assumption that you and many of the other commenters have never spent a significant amount of time in this country and are basing your opinions on videos like Lingualizer has posted in the past as well as other third party accounts of how dumb we are here. People want to be entertained and entertainers will provide the content that their audience wants to see even if that means creative editing, selective publication, targeted attacks, etc. I hope you don't base your opinion of an entire 330 million person population on what you've read or seen in some youtube videos. If I were to base my opinion on what people of your country are like based on your comment then I might assume it is a country full of arrogant assholes who prop up their egos by belittling entire swaths of people for likes on the internet. But I've never been to your country (still assuming Sweden) nor met enough of your people to have an informed opinion so instead I keep an open mind and judge each on their individual character, not that of others who share a nationality.

4:58 he is wrong. Russia is definitely not the only country. This applies to Finland, Sweden and Norway too and I'm sure it also applies to some parts of Canada. We have days in summer when the sun never goes down but in winter we have days without any sun.
I'm pretty sure he meant that Russia is so big it's always daylight time on some portion of it, which is actually wrong, but I guess he imagined that.
@@xxxXXXCH04XXXxxx Russia has 11 time zones only as far as I know. So you should be right. There should be time in winter when it's dark everywhere
@@dmitriydrozdov1035 It's not about time zone. It's the latitude. The closer to the pole, the longer the day/night during summer/winter.
@@joey070893 It's about both. There's no place on Earth where sun shined all the time. You're talking about polar day. i'm talking about an ability for a landmass to get sunlight at least at some its part at any time of a day and year.

Which country has the greatest difference between the highest and lowest temperatures? Huh, I would have guessed the United States. Certainly Alaska has some of the coldest temperatures in the world. Not as cold as Russia, but certainly very cold. -40F is not uncommon. Then, of course, you have States like Arizona that routinely see 110F. I don't think there's anywhere in Russia that gets that warm. I'd love to see details on this answer.
Edit:
United States
==================
The coldest temperature recorded - -79.8F Alaska (of course)
The hottest temperature recorded - 134.1F California
--------------------------------------------
temperature difference: 213.9F
Russia
==================
The coldest temperature recorded - -90.0F
The hottest temperature recorded - 100.4F
--------------------------------------------
temperature difference: 190.4F
I just did a google search to get the lowest and highest recorded temps in both the US and Russia. Unless you have maybe more updated data, the biggest temperature difference is indeed in the United States and I suspected it would be. Can you tell us where you're getting your data from?
1:45 that arabic name is qahira i think she forgot the a sound but its fine good effort
Isn't USA temperature difference greater than Russia? Record high of 57 Celsius and low of -62 Celsius which is a wider gap than Russias high of 45 Celsius and low of -68.
Death Valley vs Alaska is a huge difference
