  • In this video I have made a powerful 200 Watts DC to DC converter capable of converting 11-15 volts DC into regulated 220V DC output by using the popular SG3525 PWM IC. The efficiency of this converter is around 85 percent for small to medium loads and around 80 percent for heavy loads of greater than 100W. The idle current consumption is only 80 to 90 milliAmps due to great feedback and control of the PWM IC
    Interestingly you can power SMPS based appliances like LED bulbs, phone and laptop chargers and can even test small filament bulbs.
    This module cannot run any inductive loads like AC motor or fan which requires sinusoidal AC voltage to operate.

    What the probelm when I build dc to dc converter with this pwm. When no load its normal, but when given load my voltage input drop (12v to 8v) ?

    • @UtsavShah_25
      @UtsavShah_25  Месяц назад

      @@fikrialvian8098 that means that the current capacity of your source is not that much. When you connect a load at the output, there will be a higher current draw from the input and you will need a source that's capable of delivering higher current, for eg, a lead acid battery

      @@UtsavShah_25 for your information. I have used a 75Ah battery. and the load I use is a 100 Watt or 5 Watt light bulb, it remains the same, the power supply shows the voltage drops to 8 Volts. @@fikrialvian8098 I think there may be a problem with the feedback loop that is used to keep the output voltage stable. Also check the voltage levels of the gate-source terminals when the load is attached vs idle condition. If you have a scope then it would be very easy to check this

      The function of the first variable resistor is to set the low battery cutoff voltage, the second one for the frequency adjustment( can be optional and be replaced with some suitable value) and the third one is for the output voltage feedback.

    • @UtsavShah_25

      Well to get dual voltage, the winding setup of the secondary side needs to change. The secondary winding should include a center tap which will serve as the ground. The output voltage determines the number of windings that are needed and since your requirement is 42 volts the windings would be much less, I need to calculate it though
