I mean, it's literally hell. If they were going to the supposed route, it's no doubt that it will be extremely dark. On the contrary, i'm impressed that they took the opposite route. They made hell as if they were just a regular country where you can relax and take a break. They also covers some mythology and supernatural creatures with 180° impressions. Which is unique considering hell is supposedly cruel and full of chaos

But then along episode 6 onwards I just slowly came to realise that these kind of stuff would be normal in hell after all. After I changed my mindset about the anime I actually enjoyed it so much!! I wish there were a season 2 of Hozuki no Reitetsu...

And no matter how high your calibre in life, there is always someone higher. Or revenge can be a positive thing if you take it in positive way. I really love this anime. Or maybe I just have a thing for feudal or japanese history anime.
There are different versions of the main theme, translated to "Hozuki no Shigoto A /or B Version" and "Hozuki no SUGOI Shigoto." Hope that helps. If you want to find the soundtrack you might find results by looking up TOMISIRO as well. It takes some digging, but the content is out there.
J. Hanna I had some trouble finding that Festival song at first too. I did after some digging though! The song during episode 13 is called Bon Odori and has several versions as well. マジで3期きてほしい
今更ですが、一番愛してやまなかった鬼灯の冷徹もついに終わりを迎えてしまいました。
この際なので語らせていただきます。
この作品とは父が買ってきたモーニングを好奇心でこっそり読んだ時に出会いました。
ちょうどそのモーニングが鬼灯の冷徹の記念すべき第壱話が掲載されていたものだったんですよ。これがいわゆる運命の出会いなのかと今は思います。
当時小学生だった私は正直内容もあまり分からないのでなんとなく暇潰しに読んでいました。
ある時モーニングで鬼灯の冷徹がアニメ化されるという情報を得て、これまたなんとなく見てみようと録画をしました。
初めて出会ったあの日とあまり変わらない描写と内容。だけど映像化されることで鮮明になる物語と豊かなキャラクター性。
これまで暇潰しにも読んできたものが映像化されるとこうもドキドキするのか。と小学生ながらに思ったことを未だに覚えています。
それからというもの、すっかり鬼灯の虜になってしまった私は漫画の方もお年玉などで揃えて、グッズも出来るだけ集めていきました。
そして何より、単に成長というのもあるかもしれませんが、単行本で書いてある「地獄は本当にあるのかもしれません。現世での行いには十分に注意しましょう」というような文のおかげで、親への反抗や男子と色々やらかしてた私が善悪を区別し、踏み留まるということを覚えました。
物語、キャラクター、今聴いているメインテーマも、鬼灯の冷徹の全てが大好きです。
鬼灯の冷徹は私の人生に大きな影響を与えた作品です。今の私の8割は鬼灯の冷徹によって出来ていると言っても過言ではありません。
当時小学生だった私はもうすぐ大学生になります。
今となっては好き過ぎて、キャラクターはもちろん、声優さん、これは何巻の表紙絵だとか、タイトルだとか、全て覚えました。ありがとうございます。
江口夏実さん、沢山の思い出をありがとう。これからも、一生この作品を愛し続けます。大好きです。

This anime had the potential to be very very dark, the theme, OST the whole anime would have taken a dark turn if it was like jigoku shoujo
