Hi Vasudevan sir, it was really impressive to see the house constructed with this Rammed Earth Technique. Even I am planning to construct my house same way. It would be great if you can provide us guidance and if possible, can you allow us to visit your place.
Yes madras roofing was an option, but it would have been difficult to cover this span with Madras roofing. Our living, dining area span is 60 feet, if you add 2 feet of overhang on either side it would stretch to 64 feet.
Construction cost would vary based on the labour cost. Roofing costed Rs 300 per sqft. It takes 5 (3 rammers +2 helpers) to put up a wall of 8*6 per day. You can extrapolate for your size.
Yes I'm planning to do the same. But I need that guidance on this technology.... Can you give me any leads? I have my land at Kodaikanal and would love to build a small house like this
Construction of wall would include 5 labourers ( 3 for ramming, assembling the shutter and 2 for mixing the sand and feeding). In addition cost of cement and other incidental costs. Overall cost would include - cost of foundation, flooring, roofing, doors, windows, carpentry, electrical, plumbing etc.
Beautiful concept and well-planned home. I am glad I was able to enjoy it a few times.
This whole rammed earthed technology concept is so interesting! Pls share more from this series 😊

wasn't there any natural material for the roofing? Didn't think of using brick for the roof - like Madras roof?

Wish to know the overall cost of the whole construction alone(including flooring and roofing) please?
