Why is an African school named Prince Edward School? Did Prince Edward build it? Did he find it? Can we not name our schools after OUR heroes?
It was built during the colonial times when Britain occupied Zimbabwe the then known Rhodesia.
The school was first named Salisbury boys high school but then then later on changed to Prince Edward School in honour on Prince Edward
Prince Edward visited the school in the 1920's
It’s been there for a long time there prince Edward boys high, Queen Elizabeth girls high, Roosevelt girls high, Churchill boys high lol so many and I went to Queen Elizabeth girl high in Harare she visited the school and as well her photos all over the school buildings
We owe it to the British for their adventures and love for spreading ideas of western civilization.
