2:45 Its called animation cancelling. There are so many glitches in competitive gaming out there to take advantage of, like faster reloading, for example.
tbh yes, as the glitch isn't about killing him itself it's actually how fast you can respawn him and repeat it. It's probably more of an exploit than a glitch really

Crouching to mine faster is caused by cancelling the mining animation when you crouch
