I realize this is over 2 years old. Did you get the paintable ones? How did the command strips work out for you? I need to mount a couple of these on a hallow-core door and can't really drill into it. On top of that, mine are the fabric ones so I'll probably have to use command strips on the impalers and mount them that way. Let me know!
Don't know how you got the command strips to stick to the panels, mine kept falling off, I just ended up sticking the command strips to the impalers, gr8 vid,
Great video Zach. I am trying to fix the echo problem in my office / guitar room. How the hell did you manage to snipe perfectly the 3m command stripes one into another (wall to pannel) how do you now they match position ???? Is there something I'm missing with these 3M stuff ??
I did a fair amount of measuring before I put them on the wall. I made little marks with a pencil and lined them up. The command strips I had where pre cut too. You can also hear if the strips are lined up when you go to put them on the wall, you'll hear the two sides catching onto eachother.
Command strips holding up on wallpaper ok? At the diffusion small tiles actually diffusion or just small absorption panels? Can't seem to find this out, yet primacoustics refer to then as scatter/diffusion panels. Cheers
I haven't used command strips on wallpaper, but I'd guess it'd work since their whole thing is to not damage anything you stick them to. Also, to me they seem to have a fair amount of absorption. Now that I've spent a lot of time with them, I can't believe it took me so long to do this level of treatment. I'd recommend them for sure, especially if you're looking to tighten up you room. They don't kill all the reflections, but they help a ton!
Looks like you used two large strips for both small and large panels. Any issues with just two strips on the large panels? I bought one of the command multipacks but might go get all large to be safe. Thanks for the video!
They have been perfect! The smaller panels probably don't need the double large strips, but I did it just to keep it consistent and so the top and bottom of the panel would set the same distance from the wall.
@@ZachWirchak Thanks for the response! Sorry for so many questions.... my first panel stuck just fine but when I pulled it off (per the instructions) both parts of the strips stuck to the wall. Is this the reason you did the strips on the wall and the panels separately? Funny thing is I got the exact amount of strips I would need and now one short.
@@michaelnervOus I let my strips sit a little while before sticking them together. I've taken a few of mine off and on to realign them and I had good luck with the strips sticking where they should.
@@ZachWirchak Right on! Thanks again. I'm going to try one of the impalers with the strips first. I have a feeling it's just going to adhere to the wall more the other way.
I just purchased this acoustic London 8 kit and I have about a 13x13x13x13 smaller bedroom. Does anyone think it I shouldn't need anything in additional to that?
You'll hear a difference for sure. The only other thing I could think of to add to my room, would be a cloud. But adding the London 8 kit made a big difference in my room!
@@mrb2917 I've had my lindon 8 for a few months and have decided to install it yesterday. My studio is in a typical size bedroom. I have a focal sub and a pair of focal 65 monitors. The sub is on the floor by my feet. I'd the clap test and can hear a little echo. Does anyone recommend using a sonarworks software and mic to do speaker headphone calibration? Not sure at this time if i should buy another London 8 and a bass trap. I'll take all suggestions.
I would actually say they are very overpriced for what you get. Great video though. Edit: How did you get them for 250 dollars 😲. They are around 600 euro including delivery in the EU. For that price I was able to get 10 gik style panels from a company that are 4 inches thick and provide great absorbtion with lower frequencies too.
Yeah, the $250 price point is what got me to get them! If I had to pay 600 in the US, I probably would have skipped on them! But it sounds like you got your sound treatment figured out!
@@ZachWirchak Ya, nothing against those panels , and at 250, I would have picked them up in addition just for some extra. Very good value at that price. Treatment can be so expensive. I just found getting them bit by bit is the best way, even if you have a decent budget. There always ends up being more needed.
Sweet video, I’m stoked to see I don’t need to put screws in the wall of my rented house! I’m glad you’ve had success with the command strips
Yes! They command strips are perfect. I hate putting holes in my walls.
@@ZachWirchak do they smell?
@@naegleriafowleri2230 if I remember back to when I first opened them up, I didn't remember them smelling...

I've had great luck with mine, but sticking them to the impalers sounds like it'd be even more sturdy!

@@ZachWirchak tanx mate I ll try to make it 👍
How are the command strips holding up ?
Surprisingly well! Only 1 panel has fallen since putting them up and that was because someone bumped into it.
@@ZachWirchak thank you! I used the Scotch®

DOUBLE-SIDED MOUNTING TAPE. And they keep falling I think I will try command strips XL

Have you had any issue with the fiberglass coming out of the material? I've got breathing problems and don't need it any worse lol
Not that I have noticed. They seem really well build for the price.
