The wait is finally over! On 30th November Crime Records will release the long-awaited Legend of Valley Doom: Part 2 from MARIUS DANIELSEN on CD and Vinyl LP.
Part 1 was highly praised by the Power Metal fans around the globe. Not to mention that it was voted ‘Album of the Year 2015’ by the followers of Power Metal Cereal Guy on Facebook. And that in battle with albums by the likes of Blind Guardian and Rhapsody.
If you enjoyed Part 1, you’re definitely in for a positive surprise. Where Part 1 took 10 years in the making and consists of a variety of free-standing masterpieces, Part 2 took Marius only 3 three years and will take you to the next level of this Epic Metal Opera trilogy. Breathtaking songwriting performed by some of the best metal musicians of our time and guided by a fantastic storyline. It doesn’t get much better than this. Simply a must-have! Enjoy!
The Story
The next chapter in the Legend of Valley Doom will continue where Part 1 left us. The Dark Lord defeated Valley Doom, and King Thorgan fell in battle. The Valley Doomians are forced to flee to their allies in the west - The Kingdom of Eunomia. It is up to the Warrior King to lead the people of Valley Doom to safety. Together with King Eunotrian and Arigo the Wise they need to find a way to defeat the Dark Lord. What went wrong with the prophecy? The answers lie in the Crystal Mountains.

I have to be honest. I miss the days when Tobias Sammet started Avantasia. I absolutely love everything from Avantasia, but nothing comes close to the original Metal Opera albums. Until now. I'm truly greatful that I found Marius Danielsens project, because this is exactly what I want from a metal opera. I have listened to most of the songs, and I absolutely need to buy these albums. Não me canso de dizer que Michele Luppi é dono da melhor técnica vocal do gênero. Incrível como ele tem facilidade pra CANTAR (não apenas fazer registros) alto e agudo, Luppi faz parecer a coisa mais fácil do mundo. blazejecar i agree with that downside; Harmony has a similar problem with basically wasting Heiman’s potential imo. As far as I know he hasn’t even gone above an F5 in Harmony. I’m just happy to hear him again tho.

Olaf would deserve more stage time in my opinion. I have been a bit disappointed by the latest Symphonity album where he had to share vocal duties with Herbie Langhans and only got the slow tunes to sing. Anyway, thanks for bringing him and the other guys in.

Olaf Hayer is my favorite singer when it comes to traditional European Power Metal (you should mention Dionysus though - this is where he did his best work) followed by Heiman and Jan Thore.
For me personally those 3 would have been enough but I am fine that they are joined by some other singers like that Kiske guy ;)
Although I am not the youngest anymore (38) this music makes me feel like in my teen years again.

I am 30 and worship the great classic Heavy Metal of the 80s + the late 90s era of Power Metal. People talk about stuff not being that original, but that was also never my intention. I want my music to sound like a mix between Iron Maiden, Helloween, Rhapsody and other great bands. Put in a bit of Les Miserable and Phantom of the Opera and you have Legend of Valley Doom :P

Innovation is anyway overrated when it comes to music.
For the next parts it would be great to see 1 or 2 more unknown singers that more or less dissappeared from the Power Metal scene like e.g. Christian Gräter (Destination's Calling), Tobias Althammer (exLanfear vocalist), Thomas Strübler (Crystallion/Juvaliant) or Thomas Rauch (Kirk).
Looking forward to the album and a shirt (if that is planned).
Thank you. =) I always put in unknown power metal and metal/rock musicians to join me on the journey. On Part 1 I had the singer from Timeless Miracle. If you haven't heard them, I highly recommend their 2005 album. Thei are working on their next one now! I also had a bunch of others. Some local musicians and friends of mine etc. A goood mix of known and unknown. I always like to do that. Of the ones you mention I have only heard of Crystallion. I will check them out =) I have to be extremely picky when it comes to guests for Part 3, since that will wrap up the story of the trilogy. I will of course do similar albums, and maybe even albums within the same universe. But the main story is planned to end on Part 3.

Thomas Strübler from Crystallion/Juvaliant has done backing vocals for Edenbridge's last album so it seems he is still doing some stuff. Check out Juvaliant - Inhumane Nature. One of my favorites of this decade. Thomas is from Austria like myself and from what I know he is working as journalist so just in case I could help searching an actual mail address.
And of course I know the mighty Timeless Miracle. It is a common joke each year among Power Metal fans that next year will be the year they release their new album haha :)
So hopefully you are right!

I will have to check out those bands you mentioned. I love discovering new bands =) In 2015 while working on Part 1 I actually listened to ALL new albums tagged with the Power Metal genre on Metal archives. From January to December. I heard all of them, haha! More than 2000 songs I think it was.
I thought the Timeless Miracle album would come out this year, but maybe next year now, hehe! I actually sing a song on that album, and they sound just like their first album. So, I know you'll like it! =)

Did you use Bias for the guitars?
I am not entirely sure what the mixing guy used, but I definitely used Bias Rack on the song Visions of the Night. I think my sounds are uploaded in the soundcloud if you search for Marius Danielsen.

Yes, it is epic =) I use Bias AMP 2 and Bias FX. + Bias Rack. Live I have actually been using an ipad with Bias FX on it for a few years now.
Don't get me wrong. You've done a terrific job, but I expected something more epic (Luca Turilli's 1st album or the 2 Metal Operas by Avantasia for example). I love Daniel's pitch, but the song has left me cold. Anyway, maybe I'll enjoy other songs in the album more. Keep it up!
I think there is more than enough epicness, and there will be an insane amount more epicness coming soon, haha! I think this album is a huge step up from Part 1 both in my songwriting and production. Let’s hope you will be on board when you hear the rest ;)
