Her not being in the third movie is one of the main reasons I don't like the third movie. I know she was on another project at the time, but they should have waited for Weiss to be available.
She didn't do that movie for a couple of reasons. One was something she was already working on, but she also wouldn't play a mother to the older casted son. They only have like 10-12 years difference of age IRL.

This movie franchise was really intriguing. Swashbuckling fantasy enjoyed by all walks of life. And I really enjoyed all the three movies. Definitely the producers are able to remake another installment, but without the main characters, there might not be the same zeal and charm of the earlier films.

They could resurrect Imothep and making him to join forces with them to fight against the new evil! But they accidentally resurrected Beni&other friends too who died from the first movie. Rachel Weiss was not in movie #3. Hope she would come back if there is a 4th. I loved them!!!!!!
