Fantastic comedy from the days when people still had a sense of humour and it wasn't illegal to laugh. There is an episode of 'Get Some In', that has a very similar storyline to this, but set on a Scottish Island instead of the jungle.
It is hard to believe that some people these days do nothing but complain about this show - normally about Michael Bates playing an Indian. Those people really should educate themselves a bit about him - he was born in India, his first languages were Hindu and Urdu, before finally learning English. During the second world war he was commissioned into the Indian Army working his way up to rank of Major in the Gurkhas. So why anyone would complain about him playing the role he did I do not know. Some people just seem to look for something to be offended about.
I have been in the forest, desert and even been on the medditarean and Adriatic sea, but never been in the jungle. I have read about the Chindits and the Jungle must be a helllhole to survive in.
The BBC has said they won't repeat them because it no longer fits with what's considered socially acceptable. Unfortunately with everyone now having multiple safe spaces six billion genders and rainbow coloured hair it's not coming back anytime soon.
When comedy was actually funny. Love it. xx

Because he darkened/tanned his skin for the show. People see it as a form of blackface.

Because of The Indians.
I bet the BBC have wiped these classics.
probably but still available on dvd
They've just been censored to remove all the 'offensive' parts. Each episode is on average 34 seconds long.....
Very funny
Not as tough as he thinks lol
The anime border around the screen is just annoying.
I fully agree
I think the anime chick should go to Crunchyroll. She is a screen hog.
