    Quick question - When using AWS Client VPN, am I able to do updates/download like eg. 'apt-get update' on my EC2 Instance that's residing in a private subnet?

      No. You might want to checkout the site 2 site VPN option docs.aws.amazon.com/vpn/latest/s2svpn/VPC_VPN.html or a NAT Gatway

    Thank you, Andreas, for the video. Well done! Question. Why don't you select "Active Directory Authentication" under Client VPN Endpoint instead of "Federated authentication"?

    • @cloudonaut
      @cloudonaut  2 года назад

      I don’t remember that 100%. But most likely that‘s because I‘m using Azure Active Directory which supports SAML.

      @@cloudonaut Thanks. It would be great if you can update the video with Active Directory Authentication option. This video is much appreciated. Great job!

      @@cloudonaut Federated ID are for social logins like Facebook, Google etc. Azure AD is via SAML. However Azure AD with OpenID flow could make it Federated too.

    Great video, thanks. If I want to allow access to my EC2 server only by passing through the VPN created with AWS Client VPN, how could I do it?

    • @cloudonaut
      @cloudonaut  Год назад

      Use security groups to control traffic (see docs.aws.amazon.com/vpn/latest/clientvpn-admin/client-authorization.html#security-groups).

    The AWS Client Endpoint was already created, you mentioned you need 2 hours to do it (probably the 2nd time you do it you spend less time). Anyway, I was looking for a guide to create it. Thanks anyway

    Hello. Does anyone know how to configure inactive to disconnect the session and save the bill?

    • @cloudonaut
      @cloudonaut  2 года назад

      As far as I know, there is no inactivity timeout right now. Others have asked for that feature as well: forums.aws.amazon.com/thread.jspa?threadID=321363.
