  • Discovering new single track trails on the Surron Ultra Bee. Headed out into the woods with my buddy for an afternoon of exploring. Really enjoying this bike more each time I ride it. It's such a good tool to go explore. Planning is key to range anxiety. Mapping out your route will help tremendously. I am running a roller chain now and I have not noticed an increase in range. I will probably be switching back to an X-Ring chain.

    It seems you lost your friend on his environment unfriendly bike ;) I'm kidding, still got a petrol bike myself. I guess Ultra Bee is ultra quick (the rider plays a role too). Great video!

      @zekd  6 месяцев назад

      Absolutely! Rider plays a big role in it. I would get smoked on these trails by a faster rider on a gas bike. For the slower, tighter technical stuff the Ultra Bee dominates.

    Are you running the non O-ring chain now? Did it improve your range in the trails?

    • @zekd
      @zekd  6 месяцев назад

      Yeah I'm running a non o-ring chain. I noticed its smoother and quieter on the trails than my Niche x-ring chain. I have not noticed any range improvement but I only have 2 trail rides on the new chain and haven't done a proper range test. Each rides were at different paces and distances so it's hard to know yet.

      @DizzzCo 6 месяцев назад

      Non O-ring is def higher performance in terms of efficiency, but you need to really keep up with the maintenance - otherwise it’s actually the opposite.

    • @SUPERGOOSE-LLC
      @SUPERGOOSE-LLC 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@zekd Good point. Yes, I noted that in my review video comparing chain types. Non O-ring is quieter at slower speeds, and louder at high speeds.

    What brand of pads did you buy? How much regen do you use?

    • @zekd
      @zekd  6 месяцев назад +2

      OEM pads, bought from Surron Canada if I remember correctly. I haven't replaced my fronts yet. I think I'll upgrade to a different brand for the fronts when I replace. I want more bite on the front.

      Haven't looked but I'm hoping Galfer has some that fit. Best all condition pad.

    • @zekd
      @zekd  6 месяцев назад +1

      That would be sweet. I drag my rear brake a lot so I go through pads pretty fast. I forgot to mention my regen settings, on this ride I maxed out both at 5. I think ill dial back the engine regen to 3 and keep braking at 5.
