- A feral teenager, is taken into a Catholic school for orphaned girls, where The Bishop hopes to transform her into a well-behaved young lady. The Bishop believes that showing her transformation to the press will help their financial situation, so he and the school nuns do everything they can to change her. But, unfortunately, they have no idea about the dark secret she keeps and The Woman who relentlessly follows her.

Probably because its not standard routine to test if someone is pregnant, especially at her age.
Being in a hospital doesn't mean that they magically know everything about your body.
If there are no symptoms or background that relate to specific Diseases/Problems they will not test you for them.
I don't know much about the american healthcare system, but this girl definitely had neither money nor a insurance. So they probably only treated her for the bare minimum.
@@Grothgerek im american and have been hospitalized with and without insurance. a hospital will most likely still be thorough in their testing even if you do not have insurance because that is a lawsuit waiting to happen lol. one of the important things they check in women is for pregnancy, at least from my experience, because they need to know before they administer any medication. so yes, this hospital should have 100% tested for pregnancy, especially considering she was a young girl all by herself and looking the way she was, it is reasonable enough to suspect some kind of kidnapped/abuse situation.

@@Grothgerek actually it is standard practice. When I girl of menstruating age goes to the hospital for anything they give pregnancy test to rule out and to know what medications can be administered.

The only thing that I don’t understand about this movie is how the hospital didn’t know or didn’t inform the orphanage that Darlin was 8 months pregnant?! Hospitals in most cases always do a urine and blood screening on patients who are admitted to better understand their situation and determine a treatment plan. Females are always asked and tested for pregnancy before any type of medical procedure. Just found it interesting that it was such a huge secret until she undressed in front of the priest her pregnancy was discovered.

It's actually called "Selective Mutism." My autistic daughter wouldn't/couldn't talk to anyone but mom, dad, and sister until she was about 6 years old. She is now almost 14, and still can't talk to adults she doesn't know. But at least she talks to the other kids at school...just not the teachers.

To all those who don't know, Darlin' is a sequel to the move The Woman which in turn is a sequel to the movie The Offspring.
Personally, The Woman was my favourite in the trilogy, and in The Offspring, this woman was more of a villain but it was a great movie to watch. In The Woman, I could feel the hatred towards the antagonists and it's one of my favourite movies. I liked watching Darlin' but I did expect more from it considering the first and second movies of the trilogy. But, I would definitely recommend watching the trilogy to everyone! They're great!

Darlin' is actually the 3rd movie in the trilogy. The 1st one is called The Offspring and the 2nd one is called The Woman. Personally, I liked the 1st and the 2nd movie, but not the 3rd (the one in this video).

it is a pretty ridiculous movie. As soon as the 1st person is killed the place would already be swarming with cops. There is no way a feral woman would still be wandering around killing people.
