They did. Then the fighter mains complained about bombers lasering them out from 1km while being super tanky which is a fair complaint. Rather than nerf one or the other they nerfed both like retards and we're left with this sad mess today. Should've been just a gunner nerf so good pilots can still defend themselves but nah, gotta double nerf in true gaijon fashion.

I swear, it feels like bombers are only ever able to pull their own damn weight when flying them in sim, and even then people complain because they actually have a fighting chance at defending themselves.

At low tier they can be very dangerous, weak guns on most planes + spacious interiors works wonders.

@@reinbeers5322 I don't argue with that. Low tier bombers are the only ones that actually pose a significant threat. But it seems to be the complete opposite at BR 3.7 onwards, with 90% of bombers having not a chance in hell of making it out alive the instant any fighter gets within a kilometer of them. The only real exceptions being those with 20mm cannon turrets, but even then it's a 50/50 if you can kill them before they do enough damage to you that any hope of returning to base evaporates.

It's all about the altitude. Get to 26k feet or higher in RB, and wait for BF-109s, P-39s, Zeros, etc to lose their energy trying to climb up to you and pick em all off with your tail gunner. Try and stay away from the FW-190s, P-47, and any Russian plane (because even though they are made of wood and scraps, they are indestructible because Gaijin).
