The level of dedication is off the charts, knowing that you still practice is a large part of the proof, multiple world records don’t hurt either, great job.
This was the first speed run I have watched. I was planning only watching for a few minutes but it was so damn compelling I couldn't stop! Great job, great video, and huge congrats!
For someone who holds a world record in such an iconic speed-running game, I'm surprised to see you with only a mere 9k subs... But good job. I'm happy with my 100% in 2 hours.
Absolutely remarkable, I watched both of your world records. Like a magician, one swift motion. I can’t fathom the YEARS it must have taken to get achieve this level of mastery of any game. Well done.
I sure hope so. I was into speedrunning this about 20 years ago, and there's a bunch of origin story I can't quite remember. I'd be cool to see it all dug back up for me, private detective style.
Every time I watch a run of this, there's a room strat that I've forgotten or never seen before that floors me. This time it's the Blue Bomber to get the missiles in Aqueduct. 45:26

Man oh man, amazing job…
Was a pleasure tuning into your streams all last year. Very happy you were able to achieve such an insane time but sad that at least for now, the journey is over. Thank you for being a great host and hoping to see you running SM again in the future!
There's certain melancholy in knowing that this may well be the last minute barrier broken in this category for a long time, or ever. Congratulations, it's been a long time coming.
not to mention this speedrun filled with 1000 mistakes so 1:12:55 seems surprisingly low for Zoast's level. I really don't understand Super Metroid at times, does PB optimization give that much handicap to get WR by 10 seconds and that amount of misplays) Congrats to Zoast though
@@maxiqums1549 idk what you're trying to say but you can see in his video that his sum of best is only 43 seconds better than this run. losing 43 seconds in a 1:12:xx speedrun with this much execution and rng is pretty dang impressive
@@Skelig It's really good. Probably it's just me. 1:13:08 seemed a lot more accurate as a whole just for my taste. And Zoast pretty sure able to make 1:12:3x even by now
@@maxiqums1549 1:12:3x would be very difficult, but it's hard to predict, so maybe. Yeah I made a number of mistakes here, but none of them big, and there are many many things that DO have to go right for this. To have no big time costing mistakes is very rare in this run plus there were some areas that were fairly flawless here, like early game to phantoon and croc area to tourian entrance. Then you need to clutch out tourian under pressure without losing much of any time as always.
@@zoasty as amazing as this is I think you are underrated! The amount of skill and dedication puts you up there with the likes of motocross superstars, NFL & MLB players etc. Really incredible to watch!!!! Normal humans are simply not capable of this feat.
Congrats, Zoast. I got into watching SM Speedrunning with Oats' SM: Impossible GDQ run, but the technical brilliance of this run was on a whole other level.
Hell yeah. F'ing actually ty for playing and putting in work with SM. That goes for all runners tbh but thanks for giving us someone to chase :D huge grats and love to see ya happy with your work ✌🙂

Hey Zoast with the most? The fact that you haven't been practicing for a while and did a race with Zeni, won and got a official world record again, is fricking insane! That's the reason why I'll always support you man!

One last thing, around this time last year was the first time I ever saw game play of this game let alone speed running , and that very first footage was none other than Zoast. You’ve made this game a part of my life now and I’m great full for it, watching you and all the other top runners is truly inspiring, how I never played this game as a kid is beyond me, what an incredible, timeless game I truly can’t believe that at 40 years old I’m just starting to play this game now, better late than never.
I can say pretty much the exact same thing about my super metroid journey. Started watching Zoast, started playing game. Became obsessed. Speedrun. Am 40 too. How cool. GL. Speedrunning this game is super fun. Zoast is awesome

GOD TIER Blue Brin and late game. Good to great Tourian with only minor issues. Well done sir, the first 1:12. What's crazy is that there's still 11 seconds on Ph*******ss, ~10 seconds in Maridia, ~5 seconds on Rodney, and ~3 seconds on MB2 (and still allow for minor execution stuff). What's even more nuts is that you got WR even with those things and almost all of those are RNG. AMAZING execution over the course of one and a quarter hours. Thanks and GL on the runs, zzazzman
