yep. when you install a ep you should cut and paste the file into the latest ep folder. Watch the video again with the annotations on and it will take you to a more detailed version of this video.
ok. you have to do the alternative method then. go to your "notepad" and right click on it. then open it as admin. then in notepad go to your pets file where you pasted the sims3.ini file and open it. it won't show up at first but just change the option at the bottom to all files. then open the sims3.ini file and you should be able to save it.
-start>all programs> accessories -Right click notepad, choose properties -click on shortcut tab and choose advanced. check the box that says "run as admin" and click on apply. -click on security tab. choose your user name. Under "permissions for username" click the advanced button. -On the "Permissions" tab choose your user name and click the "change permissions" button. On the next page (it will look almost the same but w/o the other tabs) click "edit" button. Under "allow" check full control
yeah, that part is weird for some reason. If i enable sound, when I record I can't hear it but when I do a playback the sound is there. As for how to fix it if during playback there is no sound. I don' know. I would suggest using fraps if the playback video has no sound.
open the file and see if your changes saved. if everything looks the same as is did before it didn't change. but i sent you a message on how to change the admin rights for notepad all together so you no longer have to be asked for that. if it doesn't work let me know.
not quite. I have admin rights on my PC when i log in, but still have to right click some things to open it as admin. for some reason in windows 7 even if you are the admin, when you log in, you don't have admin abilities.
supernatural. thats strange anyway you shouldn't be denied anything. do you mean while trying to save. If your having that problem. right click on notepad and then it open as admin. then open the file from the original folder to the supernatural folder
Having a problem.. ok so do i save what i changed back into the supernatural folder or in the original? Because im getting access denied in the original base game folder.
no, that's not what i meant. you can be an admin and still it won't let you do admin things. go to this tutorial watch?v=4iEGGRVghS0&hd=1 and click on the 40 sec mark in the description and it will show you what i am talking about.
Yeah i did all the steps and then when i go to save it asks where should i save... & then it it asks do i want to replace sims3.ini i say yes and then it will pop up Access denied sometimes it would even say i need permission to an admin and i am the admin.
. go to this tutorial watch?v=4iEGGRVghS0&hd=1 and click on the 40 sec mark in the description. It is another one of mine that has how to save files as admin. I will re-do this tutorial explaining the admin thing. Its weird but for some reason even if your the admin you have to "jump through hoops" to do admin things.

go to My Computer, search Sims3.ini and it should come up. Windows doesn't like to show file extensions sometimes.

if i install another expansion pack which is a new one like island paradise, what do i need to do? cut and paste the note to the new ep folder?
Okay i think it worked idk how do i make sure i followed all the steps during the alternative mode (:
After I go to the Program Files(x86)/Electronic Arts/Sims 3/Game/Bin, there's no sims3.ini file....what do I do?
