Had mine service by vw till about 170k km and then started doing it myself currently on 230k km no issues apart from a cracked exhaust manifold seems like a common issue on these cars just got it welded and its all good. You may ask then why was i watching this video. Because i did an engine wash and i think water got somewhere. Just ran the car on idle till for about 10 minutes and it seems to have fixed the epc light😂 fingers crossed
Thanks for watching and the comment. Yes no reason to go to VW as long as you service it correctly which i am sure you do. Water ingress can cause all sorts of issues but a bit of heat can obviously cure it occasionally.
Thanks for watching like any thing mechanical, it depends on how it's used, obviously only 3 cylindes on smaller engines so they will fail sooner due to more wear.

How much are their engine life if they're serviced regularly
