What he was saying at 15:08 is sooo true. I was trying to teach my dog to “doggy catch” or jump into your arms. To do this you start in a chair, have them jump to you, and then start raising yourself slowly off the chair to gain height. …problem is my pup would jump into my arms- and then I’d reset her on the floor. Too many quick repetitions confused her. Did I want her in my arms or did I not?? She got to a point where she wouldn’t jump up anymore. So yes!! Definitely!! Be careful you don’t reset an animal too fast when they come to you because you’re too eager!😂
I'm asking alittle early but please can you do a video on how to get our birds used to the sight of a Christmas tree and what is safe or not for our birds on a tree I've watched the one on fireworks and put your ideas into practice as we come to bonfire night so I thank you for that xx
I love your vids and have a question I live near a small power plant that is only on sometimes but I still don’t know if it affects my bird because it’s really near by, do you think I can have a parrot outside without him getting health problems? Thanks
Of all my 8 parrots, only one will not step up. My 16 yr old Quaker is not food motivated. I know he loves me and no longer bites me. He is also not toy motivated. His favourite toy is 3 linked baby rings attached to and bottom to a bar of his cage and he will wiggle that for hours.
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about that. Please pass along my condolences. ChiChi, your antics in the vids always brought me joy. I often rewatched them and suspect I'm not the only one.
I’m sorry but as a pet parent to several parrots, I just don’t see the point of teaching tricks for parrots to perform on cue. I guess I prefer the bird to be itself.
That's fine, but tricks have a lot of benefits too! They're wonderful bond-building activities and great for birds who need to get some energy out. Even tricks like recall, "wings", handshake, etc have practical uses, like retrieving your bird from an undesirable place or checking the bird for health related reasons. Not something you have to do, but there's really no harm in it :)
Yeah, it was a tough location to film in for sure. I may consider voice-over in the future but hard to re-capture moments like that. Def will be looking into the masterclass locations a bit more in advance to avoid this though!
Widget looks like he’s having the time of his life. Seems like a gentle birdy
Less talk more treats, lol
White bellied caiques are just the cutest!!!! I think it’s funny that she learned to do a breathy whistle from Jamie 🤣
Widget is the sweetest, cutest, most adorable Caique I’ve ever seen! His sounds are too cute for words! Sweet baby!

She's happily living with her human, Patty.

Hey, guys, how about an update on Chi Chi? I love the Chi Chi vids.
ChiChi unfortunately passed away, I don't recall hearing the cause or if they got a necropsy done. Most people don't get necropsies done.
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear about that. Please pass along my condolences. ChiChi, your antics in the vids always brought me joy. I often rewatched them and suspect I'm not the only one.
have you guys ever trained other species of birds? other than parrots 😊
Yes, they have
Go back tot their first ones? They started with doves in the magician-based-shows.
(but since parrots are way, way smarter...)

😍
Too much to remember! I’d never be a decent bird mom

Sorry unwatchable with the poor sound

I’m very hard of hearing and didn’t have issues understanding it. I’m sorry you did though ❤️
You can watch it with CC, works pretty well even with the echo.
