- This is my full recording of 'When The Bough Breaks', from Sleep Tokens first EP "One". I absolutely love this song, and this was around the time when the crowd finally calmed down. They were extremely loud in my other recordings, so this I would say is the only one worth uploading from this particular show.

The song that started it all. Going from When The Bough Breaks to Euclid is a journey.
This is the superior version of this song. Wish they'd do a live album and throw in some of the hidden gems of their discography.
there's something so magic about vessel's voice in old shows...
And the old material just hits so much differently for me.

@@detestor420 i posted this on newer videos, got much hate. I think theres a different motivation behind the music. In older shows and songs it was true emotions, dealing with it. Now its, i dont know if it makes sense, but, its professional emotions. Now its more of an Act, since he mostly moved on with his life.
@@MrScreamCream completely agree. Now it’s for all them thirst fan girl who only started to listen when the summoning was released. And won’t listen to anything but TMBTE. I’ve been turned off from them ever since the new album and now with their new gimmic

The first few times I've heard WTBB I always thought "it would be cool if Vessel slipped a scream in one of the "don't lie to me" lines" AND BOY I WASN'T DISAPPOINTED

@@mthayne8 Bro he sings it soooo different live lol. In this video he uses his chest voice and it sounds so much better in my opinion. In the recording off of One he uses his head voice (think michael jackson "hee heeee" lmao). His chest voice on earlier recordings is so, how do you explain it, raw sounding, like on the verge of cracking yet he throws in falsettos in there. He is singing the way he does in Nazareth, which happens to be my favorite song. Also, he throws in some subtle screams in this version, especially at the end right before the breakdown. They should definitely re-record a version like this, cut off the intro vocal harmony part off the original and start the song where this video starts. I've listened to this video so many times a version like this would probably be my favorite :p

Gosh if i see them live and they perform this song, imma cry ugly tears. the song is just so "me". i was with one dude that i personally hate. but i was in foreign land and i just don't want to be alone. he was just so toxic and demanding but i stayed with him for 3 freakin years just to not be alone.

Sometimes.i feel like sleep tokens first two albums are CRIMINALLY slept on. Im particularly guilty of sleeping on this song, went back to listen to it and was blown away. I did this song dirty waiting 6 years to give it that good lay down and close your eyes listen. The way the music changes and everything from the first dont lie to me to the end is an absolute work of art. Both the album and live version. This, calcutta, thread the needle and jericho are my roman empire. I mean all their music is absolutely amazing (seriously) but going back and listening to those first two albums? My whole soul.

Is there any other live video of When The Bough Breaks?? This is the only one I can find and it’s amazing but I wanna hear the full live version and I can’t find any other videos
As far as I'm aware I seem to be the only one who uploaded a video of it. There may be other recordings out there, just not uploaded anywhere unfortunately

@@Cymoar thinking about it, the start of this recording is basically right from the start, they didn't perform the mega soft quiet part at the beginning of the studio version. If they did, the venue would have ruined it as the crowd were very loud
@@adamhalliwell5151ah that makes sense, either way it’s still awesome. Especially to see Sleep Token in a setting like this. I just saw them last week and it was a good show but the place was packed af and they don’t play so much of their older amazing stuff anymore

Does anyone notice that Vessel sings "Don't you lie to me" but all lyrics sites mention it as "Don't lie to me"
That's because he changed it for the live version too. He also sings another octave of the harmony.

Artists often take creative liberties with their music. I like it both ways.
