When you say “average” story drift do you mean averaging each story within a building. Also if some stories have much smaller/larger floor area than others, do you do a weighted average based on floor area? Thanks again for another awesome video.
Great video!Thank you a lot! In case that i have very stiff shear walls in the corners and a few columns between them (starting from the middle of the span) , i have to consider column deflection to average drift of vertical elements?
Hi! Thanks a lot for your continuous effort. I have a general question: i will take the PE Civil Water. If I encounter a construction problem when I choose the Water Discipline , is it the same difficulty as problems in the construction discipline exam? Let’s say again I take the water discipline, would be a problem about soil and geotechnical, be the same difficulty as I take the geotechnical discipline?!
I have this concert because my major in BSc was environmental engineering and we didn’t take any transportation or geotechnical courses. I did the practice exam issued by NCEES for water discipline and I found the problems regarding soil, geotechnical, and transportation are difficult because I don’t have prior knowledge. So i am planning to get the basic of these topics by reviewing practice problems from geotechnical discipline and transportation discipline that are here in youtube.
Great video as usual, Rich. Did you compete at the Head of the Charles Regatta? I was lucky enough to be there in 1997 in a LWT8. It was quite a treat coming from a California school. I loved my years rowing in college.

I hope my concern is clear to you. It is about how to prepare for subjects you didn’t take in your undergraduate courses.
