@@freelancegeneralist1664 I really do actually lol. And when the trailer for DS Remastered came out, it appeared that it WAS going to be Dark Souls 1 but with DS3 graphics and animations. WHICH would have been absolutely fucking perfect, but instead we got the exact same Dark Souls game with just very slight upgrades in quality to certain things.
Still stuck with the ugly 10+ year old graphics. Shit just needed swapped with DS3 textures and animations lol. Its all the same fucking engine.
@@JBMetalProductions remaster means upgraded resolution/fps, but not fundamental changes. A remake is what you're describing, a la demon's souls.

I think the biggest problem right now is that they put the first area in the middle throne!
I've barely seen 20 minutes and idk man, the second area of DS2 being the 1st level seems appropriate for a Fromsoft vet that actively seeks out mods of the games.

any area with enemies that need 10+ hits to take down being the first area while couple areas exist where you can 2sh0t/1sh0t enemies with starting gear is not "Appropriate".
i dont mind that it is accessible and dont really think the modders made a huge mistake by putting the place in the middle or making it accessible, but your notion of littering first area with enemies taking dozen hits with non-depraved starting gear being OK/appropriate is just pure egotistical elitist BS.
these games have more to them than just difficulty, and mods also have more value than just forcing you to engage in artifical difficulty

Yea I wouldn't say this game has a better intro than DS3. Yeah, this game's intro is cool, but it really is just an artful slideshow. DS3 on the other hand, has a spectacular intro cutscene, with perfect music, atmosphere, and is just so dramatic and spectacular.
I feel like they mean the intro level which is better
They managed to get the echo sound effect in the voice acting right, something the demon souls remake failed. The echo just makes you feel so alone and in a post apocalyptic land.

some sort of sand exploding animation would be really cool on the worm when it comes out and goes in, the floor already has pretty dope effects but that'd be really immersive if doable

the mod devs need to tone down the enemy scaling a bit and increase souls earned from enemies and bosses. most of this mod felt closer to a low soul/weapon-level challenge run, you shouldn't be hitting the first bosses in the game for 40 damage a swing with a +2/3 weapon. enemies drop basically no souls and too many of them are chunky to the point at which you're better off running past them than wasting your heals.
The devs actually nailed the scaling for the different areas, Aggy just started playing in highest scaled area. The middle throne has the first area where enemies are much less tanky

This looks extremely impressive for a mod. On the other hand, it has taken the Elden Ring meme critique that "you are fighting Sekiro enemies with a DS3 character" and literally made it real...
Obediah's contextual reactions need to be 100% consistent, or just not exist - one of the two, no middle ground. It looks like it's a *percentage based chance* whether or not he'll actually do some of them, such as the spinning back-kick, meaning you have to *flip a coin* in a game that is supposed to be about *skill-based input and trial-and-error learning* any time you want to go for damage.

Seems like they did a nice job of remixing assets from other games into something with it's own identity. I've seen a lot of people criticize the garden of eyes mod for doing the same thing, but I'm guessing that's mostly because they lock it behind a paywall

I mean he wasn't in the starting area so he's basically SL1 in mid game zones. It's not that it was hard it was he lacked the damage to kill things in a few hits. Everything felt like a mini boss because he wasn't upgraded for those area's.

Alright necromancer obediah seems a bit over the top, I'd balance him out by lowering his defenses a bit so the few attacks you're able to get in actually count for something. Like come on, dude is wearing no armor with bare skin showing how is he that tanky?

@@ianstafford8045 This is actually a really important point. In Demons Souls, which this is taking a lot of cues from, the game forces you to do 1-1 and the layout from left to right then makes sense. Even when talking to everyone I didn't get that the middle throne was the first place without trial and error. And knowing how overtuned Dark Souls knockoffs tend to be it's impossible to tell if this is going to be a nut buster of a game or if you went to the wrong area.

It's a DS3 mod, you only need that. And the mod itself, of course. There is no DS1 involved.

Id still rate convergence mod higher in terms of quality and content, granted this is the demo.
This is easier to set up than convergance, so that’s a little extra point
This feels more like a new game then convergence does and that it's only a demo means we should get a lot more content from it.

I really hate the bosses so far - the other one I tried was the "Not Tower Night" and the fight is bullshit. Once he gets that first holy power upgrade, the fight turns into absolute dog shit. You do peanuts for damage against it, and like, the gimmick is you're supposed to hit his feet until they both glow and he falls down, except... him falling down knocks you down, and buy the time you get backup, he's back up as well. And you only do extra damage if you hit his head, but frankly not nearly enough. All the while he's spamming pursuers and lamming his fist in the ground causing blasts that deal most of your health even if you're far away.
That’s like the easiest fight in the game so far ngl so you’re going to be so mad that the other bosses

the bosses are amazing ,
this boss+ father owl copycat + vaatividya boss + Abyss watcher turned into werewolf+ Abysswatcher and BigWolf duo gankfight(which is literally an objectively 100x improvement of the original DLC's gravetender fight and better than any duo boss in ER) etc are honestly great and easier to read than some ds3 bosses.
apart from the last phoenix chimera beast , all bosses are fun and incredibly fair

the mod is great *but* some enemy design is very inconsistent and straight up bad. some areas are excellent, and some are obviously made by someone else which are not so good. obediah and disgraced knight belong in something like sekiro and not with DS mechanics
nice, wanted to see this but didnt want to have to buy DS3 on pc just for it, sad day for us ps5 players :(
if you buy it on PC you get access to ALL mods.. and ALL future mods. very much worth the investment :p
besides my 500$ victus pc out preforms current ps5's and i still feel terrible about everyone buying consoles over a pc. it is easier to buy and use a console.. not smarter haha. you can create your own games with a pc.. movies even.
consoles are in the past and have been for over half a decade now. i do not mean offense i am simply trying to help out the world of gaming by getting rid of console segregation. all console games.. are made on a PC. so why not just be a PC nerd? you dont have to learn specs.. videos got you covered for that.

@@RiverRockXIII oh trust me Im already a pc nerd. I have a beast of a rig from Maingear that cost me nearly 8k like 2 years ago lol, had to go with a prebuilt to get a 3080 back when they were sold out basically everywhere. I know the wonders of pcs and I agree :D but I disagree with the notion that consoles should just be phased out. I prefer to play 3rd person action-combat type games like the soulsbornes and like FF7 Remake or FFXVI on console (just like I only play FPS or MMOs on pc), and even though Im on my pc constantly Ive still always owned a current gen Playstation as well because they serve different purposes to me. Its nice to just have a dedicated gaming console with a controller instead of having to use mouse and kb in a game not designed for them or a shitty xbox controller. (although I know nowadays you can actually use ps controllers but it still takes some fiddling and usually wont correct the ingame prompts). And even though I have dual monitors its still nice to be able to use the pc and the console at the same time without being forced to tab back and forth when using the 2nd monitor for the same type of task like having a guide up or a video or something.
I know getting it on pc would give access to all mods not just this one but I already play a ridiculous number of pc games so I think Ill just stick to console and watch Aggy for the mod shit I miss :P
@@RiverRockXIII also, even though my pc could potentially run it at a higher quality ps5 games still look quite good (to the point where I dont notice any major difference between the two) and sometimes its nice to not have to mess with any kind of graphic settings or anything, when you buy a console game its already been optimized to run as best it can on your system and you dont need to worry about specs or anything. And lastly, people usually have larger TVs than monitors, and usually better sound systems as well, so its a bit of a different experience chillin on the couch playing on the TV and sitting in a chair playing on a monitor.

and if you dont notice the framerate difference it just means you probably dont game too much. pc's even on a tv can provide much much more fps. whats the max for ps5 now like 90? or is it still under that? i havnt played on console in quite a bit so idk... i feel like its 60 and 30 still for games on console.

This just shows you why it's so hard to make a good souls like. They literally have everything that from ever made to copy into this mod but they are still lacking in one key thing. Design and making it all mesh together. Watching this made me not even want to download it anymore.

@@broccolin It doesn't matter. 4 years of work and it seems like not a single playtest. I've platinumed every game in the Fromsoft series Demons-Elden and the bosses and "difficult" mobs are DLC tanky at SL1 basically, and they blend animations that have no business being in the same moveset and sped up. For example the Elite Darkwraith moves almost 2.5x faster than the player character with instant interrupts and lightspeed combos. Also the main weapons of DS3 haven't been put on the same level as their own original modded weapons.

@@MrAidaslit Dont get me wrong the demo is gorgeous and the ambition is there for sure I'd love to see it completed one day. Good news is the devs are aware and are releasing a balancing patch next. But on first release holy shit. My build is 2 +3 Lothric Knight Straight Swords, both Carthus Rings, Thrall hood and loincloth. So I should outspend and dodge just about everything right? HELL NO. 6/10 but only because some bosses are just sped up versions who spit hazards everywhere.
@@VinsmokeCoco Oh I absolutely agree, the effort put into this is undeniable. I myself am very happy there's finally an actual desert area in a souls game. But being stuck to +3 weapons, enemies that seem like they belong better in sekiro, whatever the fuck those things in cathedral are... I played the once and uninstalled after a 9 hour session, the bosses were so overtuned I decided to just uninstall the mod and wait for the full release. Hoping they get it right later, cause this has the potential to be THE dark souls mod.

Convergence is a finished mod with retired support, Archthrones is in it's demo. Don't compare them.

So they made the enemies have over like 2k health for basic enemies...your damage is shit...so basically this mod needs work ik demo but ffs takes that long to kill one basic enemy is too much.....kinda ruined it for me couldnt even watch it
