I compare Sergei ‘s death to some extent (in a lesser degree) to the death of a child. I think I would rather not have any children than enduring the death of a child. There is nothing more painful. However Sergei and Katia did live some glorious days that very few if any in this world have experienced. Ekaterina did find a new love that lasted quite some time. She was married to Ilia for 18 years and I am sure she loved him. But just like a child cannot ever be replaced by another child, Katia’s love for Sergei can’t be replaced with a new husband.

I remember watching them on TV performing at Olympics and world championships. Such a devoted, loving beautiful couple. I always adored them. Still heart breaking as it will be 25 years in November 2020 since Sergei passed away so young. A beautiful young man.😪😪⚘⚘

Their love for each other was absolute. Always loved watching them skate. Sadly, Sergei died much too soon but at least he got to spend almost all of his time with the love of his life. And, they brought us so much pleasure.
Because they grew together, shared and learned to trust with the deepest part of themselves. This is the beginning of any wonderful relationship and so the physical part was easy and each had created such a wonderful opportunity for the other what could be better. I remember when Sergei spoke about wanting to be always with Katia, just Katia, "I like it that way and we like it that way". That too is so rare. That type of connection just is almost unheard of---one making the other totally complete. The two halves of a perfect whole as we have heard, and the hearts beating as one. This was of this world, but really not. Anything here is so temporary, so anything this extraordinary will be extra temporary as I see it. But the story doesn't end here, only the physical existence. After all, it was the soul of each, not the physical body that was joined in the only way that endures, and that is spiritually. The best part of all of us is invisible and so it is with them as well. I know there is something good for them; I feel it in the air and in the future. God bless you Katia and your wonderful family. That type of connection just is almost unheard of---one making the other totally complete. The two halves of a perfect whole as we have heard, and the hearts beating as one. This was of this world, but really not. Anything here is so temporary, so anything this extraordinary will be extra temporary as I see it. But the story doesn't end here, only the physical existence. After all, it was the soul of each, not the physical body that was joined in the only way that endures, and that is spiritually. The best part of all of us is invisible and so it is with them as well. I know there is something good for them; I feel it in the air and in the future. God bless you Katia and your wonderful family.
