In the late 90s from Life After Death to No Way Out to Harlem World to Money Power Respect, Deric 'D Dot' Angelettie was the name you saw on the back of the cover of these legendary albums as the Associate Executive Producer. The captain of the Hitmen, the madd rapper/madd producer. Legendary. Thank you for this Math!
I always knew what time it was when I seen d dot and nashiem myrick on production credits
*Madd
Math Hoffa...

This is definitely one of the best interviews of the year! Great photographic memory and details within his stories!
🫡 Shoutout D-Dot OG.
Gotta love 3 hr sessions with our Golden Era Legends. Salute to yall all.
Top comment right here.
Swear champ is becoming my favourite personality over last few months😂
D Dot is one of the greatest rappers to grace this earth.
He was born in Cumberland Hospital in Ft. Greene. Mike Tyson, Jordan, I think Al Pacino was born there. I was born there.
Damn legendary
The hospital still there
This interview and guru was the best for me…gat need to listen more when it comes to interviews with legends…
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽I been waiting for this one!!! 45mins in and I am GLUED!!
My dad had a studio and record company throughout the 90's and was a producer. Huge difference in producer, most are the brains of the operation "The Maestro", Rick Rubin for a perfect example, gave inspiration to Johnny Cash and many others to put out amazing work. Most record companies are sharks give little percent back to the artists putting in the original work, it's the upfront money that screws many talents. Running your own successful biz ain't easy, so the majority take the easy way out.
This is where I heavy regret being just a big fan of rap because I feel crazy not knowing homie was more than just the mad rapper sheeeeeessshhhh well I’ll never forget 💯💯💯💯💯DDOT
Whole episode FINALLY 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👌🏿
Great interview….
Was so needed to be published/seen! Shout out to D.Dot, whoaaaaaa ✨
BIG did that joint with Da Brat in 1994 …
( And she more than held her own)
I never knew D. Dot was the voice intro for Realest N***as from 50 and Biggie
Champ be killing that mix in the beginning 😂💯💯💯
He definitely killed it this episode
Anybody who directly connected to the B.I.G error? I'm listening too. This was iconic interview I wish I could of ran into D.dot back when I was chasing it. U dat nigga D.dot no fuckin doubt about it.
This and the Guru ep is the best, hands down!!!
Maths top 20 are all great. He has so many top interviews but I think I have to agree with you here. Definitely 2 of the best guests. Top comment.
THE BLACK ROB REPORT WAS SLEPT ON TOO
A Biggie & Jay-Z Only Album Would Of Been Crazy 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Respect To The Mad Rapper!
The only “what if” i wish happen was a song between big and nas
Best interview of the year
New Yorkers have the best hip hop stories
Thank you D Dot! Speaking truth 🙏🏾
The most fun I've ever had watching a interview! DDot the man! Another win Math!!
Thinks for all you do for hip hop D dot! My favorite memories is when you were on Making the band and yelled at the band members for gambling in the in house studio that they were taking for granted.
Bro this interview is incredible.
This was bananas. Shout out for Mecca for the challenging questions.
Am I the only one who doesn’t care for Champ beatboxing in the beginning of every show?? I fast forward it quick! 🤷🏾♂️
nope finally someone who thinks like me, I say it on every episode this new cats are wack. Champ is corny and tries too hard the beat boxing is wack as hell I can do better and the other side brings absolutely nothing to the table. Everytime he speaks they all be looking at each other like REALLY? What is he talking about.
Yes You are it adds on to the cypha and he’s nice with it
His beatboxing is pretty good but he doesn’t need to do it all the time. It gets annoying and not needed.
Honestly the whole intro needs to stop, the echoing is corny and annoying but Math NEEDS that validation I guess 🤷🏾♂️
Mecca suffered through this entire interview..😄
Yes he did because DOT gave him a loss hahaha
@@joecalhoun6476 he was just staring at him like, "D*mn, you're making all these legitimate points that go against my philosophy, and making everyone laugh!" 😂
He hates to be wrong!!!! He knew what Dot explained about facts and opinions was correct. Then his bitch ass talking about he didn't have to think about it. Yes you did my guy!!!!!! You thought about it making it an opinion and not a fact.😂😂
@@joecalhoun6476another thing. The only reason DDOT doesn't get the attention he deserves as a producer is because Puff's marketing overshadowed him.
@@esseen100 I agree I never questioned that. I am saying Mecca won’t just give up and DDOT gave it to him good hahaha! Mecca could not get the last and right word with him smh
It's clear that Math believes in the Bible 🫡🤝🏼 much respect
are you knew to the show? He always said that that's why he had Bigga on there.
What’s the point of Gat Murda being on the show? He just be saying things that are wrong & he don’t listen/pay attention to what the guest is saying…..even D Dot was like “do you smoke?” Aka like wth
Totally agree at times.
“You smoke”? Sent me when dot said that 🤣🤣🤣
I agree
Hey Gat Murdah, Jay been writing in his head before him and big met.
Excellent Interview 🙌🏾
BadBoy4Life 💯
Finally Math!!!!! Been waiting for this one!!!
how can you not like D-Dot? Salute
One of the best listens I have listened to
Thanks celeb 4 the content loved it ❤😂😊
This my favorite Math interview of all time
Love your show!!! My new favorite!!. I just discovered it on Facebook. I can't wait to binge watch over my Christmas break
A hit record is a hit record.
D Dot has so much personality, he seems like that dude that everyone knows from the block.
Mind blowing interview , 3 hours went by so fast can’t believe it 🤯
Love the show! Respect the growth! Very good I interview!
But Champ… you don't gotta beatbox on cue, you don't gotta give extra unnecessary compliments and praise,
You don't have to be a yes man
Be yourself, everyone is replaceable until they ain't.
Math, let that man be & look like a grown man and not a flunky
Math hoffa you a fool funny for that part when you said you feel you ain't gonna die had he laughing as gat was 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Biggie also did a track with the BRAT..."Listen to the B side" 🔥 Shorty def held her own on that one.
Classic one here fellaz! Thank you 🫡✌🏼
On fire right now! This and the Special Ed eps were incredible!. You should try to get Milk, Giz and Lyte on to tell their story. A LOT of Brooklyn/Hip-Hop history, and they don't do tons of press.
#LLNH 🙏🏾💙🕊️ #TMC 🏁
I hear you d.dot but I have to sat humbley..purple tape is better .and supreme liental and wutang forever.and bullet proof wallets and iron man.and I can go on and on .wu tang did it all and still relevant here lord peace and love my G
Why you dropped it so late I’ve been waiting on this for a minute 🤣🤣🤣
1:31 you can see in Math face. That’s where everything went left with Champ with that fuck you Math comment. 😂
Thank you D-Dot for saying B.I.G. diss 2pac cause everyone one else try to say he never diss 2pac 🌹 my brother
D needs a book
Yo tripping on the dilla segment if it’s all about the hits vinalla ice would be one the greatest
Best album ever LAD
The only music where thier looking for the best
D. Dot Is hammering that nail, in! On the convo of producers, there is no criterion for any of it.
Another dope one salute to MEO🔥🔥🔥
👏👏👏👏👏
I NEVER MET THE MAN JUST READING ALBUM COVERS................ETC
VIRGIN ISLANDS PEACE ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
The reason you don’t know D-Dot is a household name. Diddy. Just say it. He was hurt by being in a collective. He is a Unseen legend. Kareem Abdul Jabbar is a GOAT.. but he ain’t mentioned because he isn’t convenient. Salute D-Dot‼️
People the read production credits knew who he was
@@claudegrinnell9602 I’m one of them. But todays Youth don’t. Streaming generation don’t read shit.
We all knew D Dot back then. If you were a fan of Bad Boy and Mary J Blige etc you know D Dot.
Salute to the Blackest Latino in Hip Hop I’m 43 and those skits on biggie Lox Blsck Rob are timeless but the best one was life story Black Rob when he talked about dude in jail having weed lord
Blackest Latino, 😂. You know being black and Latino are not mutually exclusive, right?
Splat stay saying dumb ish while D is dropping BARS! From changing the criteria to rappers crying. Facts and GEMS
If I'm not mistaken, wasn't Biggie on a track with Pac back in '93? This is referenced to the question of who did Big do a track with up until '96 besides Method Man and Jay-z
The fact that he was portraying pac wit the madd rapper, get him tfoh
Kings County Hospital East Flatbush
D. Dot was DJ Khaled before Khaled. This is for everyone that asks what does Khaled do that's what he does takes a beat (he can make them beat novicane his him) and turns it into a hit record by producing it
Somw religion says that we need to be baptised from "ORIGINAL SIN"
Hits different when you realize we ALL inbred.
To answer what mec said at 2:29 about kanye, the reason why he was accepted and praised as a successful backpacker was cus he was a breathe of fresh air after a year of 50 cent and the gangster image. Had he came out in 2001, nobody would’ve care about kanye
1:59:30…… It was originally called “Hell Up In Harlem”
Black rob life story 2 is a slow classic .they don't no rob will .just listen then they will catch on a fning classic ddot..is the producer of the year
JDila did Let the dollar circulate feat Billy Paul will crush ya entire catalog and not to mention 9 th wonder😂
PEEP THE INTRO TO THIS POD...D DOT IS TAWKING GROWN!!!!! HIS MIND IS WIDE OPEN FXXK WOKE!!!!!HE CHATTIN HEAVY!!!!!!!777777
Legend! Shout out Coach Alvin Toney Wyandanch representative! Had a cold Pal team them boys was beast! Scrimmages was real Pee wee team Va coach Al rip mooch!!!!
Diddy should be a shamed this Man should be super rich
Diddy in general should have just stfu and let these people be great. He was surrounded around pure talent and wanted to be seen way too much. It was like he did it all just to prove how great he was and not to prove how great they were. He did that with BIG but that was it imo.
Champ a legend ! 💠
Damn! I want that shirt.
facts are facts
He can grow you up FAST.
@1:11:50 these new yorkers talk about who would have bodied big in 96 .... Biggie Smalls was famous in New York he wasn't big around the world. Secondly Pac was way bigger in 96 then all of them. Can't let New Yorkers wrewrite history.
Math, this one and the Riza Islam one you held out too long!!! hahahaha pause...
What happened to the church dude that was in the show ???
Best way to see who is the better beat maker. Give both producers the same samples & say make a beat🤷🏾♂️ that’s how U separate the Bad Man from the Bad Boy🤣😂
You got to come back. We have to talk about the enigma that is Ma$e
Ddot is not to be slept on! Bouls beats were CRAZY #Salute ⚡️⚡️⚡️
Record labels and everyone in the credits don’t eat and make classics without artist. There’s no brotherhood in business. They getaway with it cuz they move on to the next artist
Timestamp of him talking about Dilla, please.
Math ATTENTION : IS DIAMOND D AVAILABLE......THAT WAS A BEAST THE FIRST TO DO WHAT KANYE WEST DONE WIT ROCOFELLA...FACTS...
.LETS GET IT ! AAAA
What in the hell do Mecca be talking about (1:45min mark)?? This is where he urks me at times. First of all Dot said he doesn't care about being mentioned. Second, people mention who they want to mention...Dr. Dre isn't vocal about being the GOAT producer people just put him there (as they should). And a ring is a TEAM accomplishment!! Being one of the top 3 scorers of all time is an INDIVIDUAL accomplishment!
Hit up Dots Engineer if you want that Knock Knock!!
Stop comparing Jay to Big...no comparison
They just messed up the interview.
🔥
I actually ended it before he said it , yes they talk to the girls with the music then and the girls talked to us , I really wondered how Lagos city house parties after highschool would have been without bad boy music produced by puffdaddy and the hitmen , surely would have been so boring and non memorable and nothing to reflect about because nostalgia feeling is highly related music 95% facts then the memories ,🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬
Why did Mecca wear a bandana for 1.5 mins😂😂
math don't say his intro ? when he go his intro goes to ?
this is a hustler. a lot of ignoramuses talk about, they was hungry so they had to sell drugs. this dude worked at a bookstore, a fast food joint, sold tickets, and he talks about that. you start somewhere, and that start doesnt have to be selling drugs on the corner. that shit's not cool
Yep that's the main takeaway I had from the interview. This nigga a hustler period.
💯💯💯
D dot is slept on man he definitely deserves his flowers
Need to get an episode on Drink Champs next
With all the hitmen
