The girl that got on stage and just stood there & the police took her off. Elvis felt badly so asked to meet her afterwards and gave her an autograph. He was always kind to the fans, his upbringing stuck with him. His mom always telling him to treat people kindly. 😊❤❤❤
@@conniegordon2465 yes I saw it on a documentary, can't remember which one as I watch as much Elvis as I can find. He was saying who is this guy, he can't act! Love him forever ❤️
Great reaction to an entertainer who despite his fame was rarely professionally filmed in concert, but thankfully this real rare golden nugget from his initial year of global impact was found and salvaged.
'When you broke my leg'! 😆He was 21 yrs. old here. He had a habit of changing lyrics all the time. Can you imagine what would happen if they had gotten hold of him! He'd have no clothes left! Even the bad sound and recording back then couldn't mask his voice.
Thankyou so much for this wonderful footage of Elvis, I've seen many parts but never this much of his return from Hollywood to his hometown, This was a charity event for I'm pretty sure ,but love this so much,His reaction to the girls screaming is hysterical, at times he couldn't even hear himself singing,I loved watching your smile as well as mine,I wish I was there, even now you can feel the excitement right thu this really old video❤ ❤👑👑👑👑👑❤️ 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 47 yrs. Later and still loving you dear Elvis! TCB FOREVER ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
One of his first band members DJ Fontana said they finally learned to park right by the stage, because at first they would park in the parking lot off field and they literally had to run for their lives from the gang of girls that chased them. One time they tore off his shirt and half a pant leg. He just laughed and said it's ok they paid for it. It was a force seldom seen before, I know the Beetles were popular, but no one was ever at this level. I don't have the link but maybe sometime you can see him arriving in Germany in the Army and the fans came out to the doc and couldn't even speak English. They chased his car when he was arriving at the base there. Thanks for your always great reaction. Be Blessed.
In 1956, I think a crowd of fans chased him & started ripping his shirt off him. I think he said, that was ok because his fans are the ones who paid for it.
I can’t begin to imagine what was going through Elvis’ mind at this particular moment in time. This is true for his mum and dad as well. As a family the left Tupelo in 1948 to try their luck in Memphis. Life had been very, very difficult for the family in Tupelo during the Great Depression, often going hungry, having to put cardboard in their shoes to last another year, living with relatives when they lost their little house when Elvis’ dad was sentenced to hard labour in one of the harshest prisons in Mississippi. Now, here he is with a key to a city that kept reminding them they were from the wrong side of the tracks. Last laugh!
He was a born performer and tease. From start to finish he knew what he had and of how to work a crowd. He was also a very funny person and rarely took himself seriously. He even snuck in to King Creole one night to heckle himself 😂 Much of the (little) fan footage available has been damaged by age and the quality is unwatchable. I hope they restore absolutely everything ever captured of Elvis and present it to us so we may continue to marvel at what a sensation he was. Love him forever ❤
Young Elvis returning to do a concert in his hometown & birthplace of Tupelo, Mississippi. He was just 21 here & had only begun singing & recording when he was 19, but had quickly become a Huge National success, followed by becoming the world’s very first Superstar. Sadly, we don’t have a lot of these early years filmed, but several TV appearances on The Milton Berle TV Show & also the New York Ed Sullivan TV Show & at least one filmed TV performance on The Steve Allen Show, which Elvis was very disgruntled about, because he was made to wear a full evening suit (Tuxedo with bow tie) & he hated it, & as he was only 20, he didn’t bother to hide how he felt either, looking very surly. But in true Elvis fashion, once he began singing, & he relaxed into the song, he did a good performance. Thank you for Reacting to this 1956 Tupelo open air concert. He did a second concert in Tupelo in 1957, but then he was drafted into the army in 1958, at the height of his global stardom, & didn’t sing publicly for the two years he was serving in Germany, & in 1960, when he returned to America, Rock ‘n Roll was in decline, so Elvis reinvented himself as the highest paid actor in Hollywood, & although he hated most of the 31 movies he made in his acting career, there are some great singing & dancing scenes in many of those movies. He returned to his greatest love, performing live in concerts, & once again shot to global fame until his death in 1977.
I'm so happy you found this. I've never seen it and I could swear I've seen everything Elvis. Did you catch the part when he was singing Don't Be Cruel and that girl wound up on stage right next to him? And he just says Hello before the police escort her away? Even then, he never missed a beat and just kept on singing. Yes, I agree this was a time when he was young, having fun and free from all the pressure that would ultimately be put on him. Wonderful find.
I just love your sweet kind and gentle reactions - you have such great insight and wisdom.. This is a lovely golden treasure of beautiful young Elvis without the world on his shoulders. It is an honor to be able to see this. Elvis actually had to step out of the way of the reaching hands because otherwise they would grab hold of him and literally rip his clothes off - it has happened a few times. Vernon his father once said that he would come home at times with shredded clothes and scratches all over him. He had to get away from the crowd before they could get to him for safety reasons and there had to be officers around to keep order. Thank you so much for reacting to this amazing rare footage of Elvis. I would like to recommend Elvis Funny Moments Compilation 68 Comeback Special Edition.
Wow, the first footage is from September 26 1956! Same date (but different year) that I was born. So collecting everything I can get over from that Tupelo Show 😍
Thank you, thank you, thank you for this, I have never seen it ! I grew up listening to Elvis througg my grandparents, parents & then my brothers & sisters played his records. He laughs, I Don't think Elvis himself could fully understand that he would be so popular, but he knew exactly what to do to make them scream!. Plus he was the most beautiful man, not just handsome but beautiful and perfect features. You're a fantastic reactor and I so very much appreciate the work you put in and your appreciation xx ❤

Thank you for showing my recommendation. I always love your reaction when I saw this I just couldn’t resist may not be the best quality, but it definitely shows enough. I’d love to Elvis his whole career. It was never a time that I didn’t love his singing and I thought you would like this too I always try to put the link that I watch it on so that’s why I sent you two links. I’m glad that makes it easier.
This was so special...I think he was 19 yrs. old and like you said ..he was a born entertainer. Thank you for requesting this amazing footage and your reaction. He looked like he was having fun too. 🌻
Jane H ….. Elvis won’t ever be forgotten. He not only had a beautiful singing voice, had been blessed with amazing good looks, & had been raised by his parents to be a polite & respectful person, but he also had an incredible stage presence & as you say, he was a born entertainer. Off stage, he was quiet & introvert & hated giving interviews, but his stage persona was extrovert & he was so genuine in his love for his fans, that we still love him, even though its been 47 years since his death. It’s so sad that his only child, Lisa Marie Presley has now passed (2023) & his only grandson, Benjamin also (2020). But he has three granddaughters, the younger two being identical twins ….. Elvis himself was an identical twin, but his brother was sadly stillborn after a difficult birth.
Definitely a classic, a gem, historical moment. Wish they had a lot more footages of Elvis throughout his whole career. All the concerts, interviews, private meetings etc. Aloha From Hawaii, 1968 Elvis Comeback Special, Elvis the Concert 1977 and his Madison Square Garden interview are the best footage of Elvis' career.
Imagine if Elvis was a new comer on the scene today. With today's sound and technology. He would have blown them all out of the water. Because in some shows according to his father, He was way wilder than this. Like The Gold Suit show. 50s.
Elvis used to say he couldn't keep still when singing. He did sing sligthly sharp at times but I'd far rather hear him as he was than hear an auto tuned version. And he had such a great sense of humour, never taking himself too seriously. Oh yes I know that song, I want you , I need you, I love you, with all my heart. He truly was the king. It was the Colonel who ruined his career. If you don't know the story, it's worth finding out about. It ruined his life too. He was a beautiful person. I was 12 back in 1956. :)
This is brilliant! I've seen this footage so many times before but have never heard the actual soundtrack to it. They often put other soundtracks of Elvis singing over it saying that the actual sound quality isn't good enough. Someone must've been able to 'clean it up' somehow with today's technology. I love this and your reaction to it. Thank you.
This is a nice upgrade in quality of footage; some of the original was a bit grainy & fuzzy, so good job to whomever did it. A mention about links, just in case you aren't aware. RUclips can be a real pain in the ---. There are times links will remain in a comment & times when youtube will delete a comment if it contains a link. I always give links but no guarantee it will stay put. Last week all was fine, then today I made 3 attempts to give someone a link & youtube kept deleting my comment. I had to give up. The best a person can do is give full title of video & name of channel. It's a hit or miss situation. I think Elvis became more disillusioned in the last couple of yrs. for a number of reasons; & while he loved the stage & the audience, it did become somewhat of a burden & his depression ran deep.
I think the message was, full songs were missing but they included what bits and pieces they had. I love your reviews. Great smiles. You made me smile with you tonight, with back spasms. 👑 🎸
HIS MOM AND DAD ARE ON STAGE WITH HIM. HE WAS GIVEN A KEY TO THE CITY. THE JORDIANAIRES WERE WITH HIM. ELVIS BWOULDN'T HAVE BEEN AN ELVIS. THIS JUST SHOWS HOW HUMBLE HE ALWAYS WAS. REALLY FAMOUS AND HE LOVED THESE GENTLEMEN. HE TOLD THEM IF THERE HADN'T BEEN THE JORDIANAIRES, THERE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN AN ELVIS. WHAT BIG ENTERTAINER WOULD SAY THAT?

Thank God they got this tape. What a treasure, to capture the King in the beginning
Even back then he had a sense of humor. There will never be another Elvis.

THis shattered all the mainstream music norms of the 50s. Music would never be the same after this performance.
Tickles me when you hear him laughing, while singing, at different times in this recording. I've never seen this one before.
