- LT: The Life & Times, a feature-length documentary film chronicling the spectacular on-field Hall of Fame NFL career of Lawrence Taylor, as well as his tumultuous off-field life. The documentary will be the first-ever in-depth look focusing on Taylor's life with never-before-heard stories from Taylor, his family and friends, his former teammates and coaches on his playing days with the New York Giants, as well as his infamous off-field challenges, including his trials, and the troubling times that have plagued him throughout his life.
My 2nd favorite football of all-time (behind Billy Sims) LT was so powerful and dynamic as a football player. He truly revolutionized the game! Every time I watched him play he ALWAYS made at least one play where I go "WOW!"

LT is the greatest football player to ever play the game. I was a kid watching LT'S rookie season and my father called him Superman! He told me that I'd never see another player like this in my life, and he is and was right. Everyone knew it if you were a Giants fan! I wish there was another LT, but my dad was right. There will never be another LT! Thanks for the awesome memories as a child LT! You're the best!
Andre Tippet was every bit as good as LT, but Tippet never played on a good team like LT did. LT was surrounded by other great defensive players, while Tippet was not. Tippet could EASILY have replaced LT on the Giants, and the Giants' defensive productivity would NOT have gone down.
@@user-sg8kq7ii3y 🤣
The only similarity between Lawrence Taylor and Andre Tippett was the number 56 they both wore!!!
Lawrence Taylor, Gary Reasons, Harry Carson and Carl Banks are the greatest linebacker quartet ever gathered together in one team. The Big Blue Wrecking Crew.
Nope! The Dome Patrol was the best linebacker crew ever.
@@jacktorrance2633 naw Dome Patrol was nice but the Big Blue Wrecking Crew got it done in the postseason
@@marqueswilliams345 We're not talking about the whole team, just the Linebackers. The Giants Linebackers didn't play offense or Special teams. The Saints offense found ways to fuck it up between '87 and '92.
Disagree Lawrence Taylor definitely the greatest defensive player ever on those dominating giant teams I live in New York 55 year's so I watched the Giants of course however my uncle Earl lived in Virginia and the first football game I ever watched was at RFK stadium in Washington I was 7 that's why I'm a Washington fan but a native New Yorker but as a unit at one time Washington had Wilbur marshall monte Coleman Kirk gouvia Charles Mann Daryl Grant Dexter Manley as a unit they were better than the Giants not by much but slightly better
@@christophermarston4491 Mann,Grant, and Manley were Defensive Lineman. We're talking only about the Linebackers Chris, not the entire Defense.
Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White,& Ronnie Lott are the 3 greatest Defensive players i ever seen in my lifetime an we havent seen players like them again, Defensive players like them come along every 100 yrs or once in a lifetime an unfortunately we may never see Defensive players like them again
Those are 3 PHENOMENAL defensive players!
Feel the same way you do those 3 dudes were incredible
And Primetime 💯
@@heem1784 Deion Sanders was a FANTASTIC defensive player but he’s not in Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White or Ronnie Lott’s class
i'm going to throw Deion in there too
I will never forget that Thanksgiving game at Detroit! Detroit is driving for the winning score and they were in the Red Zone. Detroit's QB threw a swing pass in the flat and LT picked it off and ran it back the other way for a Giant's TD! What a play and what a game!
Gary Danielson
I remember it like it was yesterday
Without a doubt, the greatest and a most game changing linebacker of all time!
The position was different after LT
what can you say, LT was the greatest defense player in the history of the NFL, PERIOD
I am a Dallas fan but I have huge respect for this guy. He was the beast we faced twice a year. Truly the best at his position.
He's a pedo
Greatest defensive player of all time 🐐
Yea and it's not debatable!!
@@blakedawg8242 you talking 💩 out of your ass
Andre Tippett was just as good. Maybe even better.
50 years a Washington fan and Lawrence Taylor is the reason Washington didn't win more super bowls he terrorized us hands down the most dominant defense player I ever witnessed bar none
Joe Gibbs created the 2 TE offense to counter LT
@@moedeesbasketball yep that's how great LT was we had had to create a new offensive formation to deal with him
Lol and because of LT the offense tackle is the second highest paid position on the football team
@@marqueswilliams345 your exactly right great point well done ✅👍
Well some truth to that. Also Dallas stopped Washington too.
I strted watching the NFL in 1979 s 6 year old Giants fan. I watched his whole career. He took over games the way QBs do in the present, as a linebacker! Only the second defensive player to win the MVP.
He was absolutely unbelievable watch every Sunday
The first football game I remember I asked my dad "Who's that?" . It was LT, he instantly became my favorite player and he is the only football jersey I ever bought. He stood out so much. Giants fan ever since.
lol@ football fan 6 years old . sure , i was 9 years old in 1979 and i wouldn't call me self a fan , sure i watch giants game with my dad . calling your self a fan before you are a teenager yeah ok i don't think so delusional
@@funtyes1970i started watching football at about 12 and play it too....but 6.....I agree with u.
Ya late
For the kids, please understand we even you couldn’t understand a young LT in the 80’s in the heart of NEW YORK CITY!!!! Plus the pounding he put on his body physically but more importantly mentally and emotionally putting that responsibility on his back!!!!! There’s so much more I could say but I’ll leave it here for you to begin to understand as we do!!!! WARRIORS ARE BUILT DIFFERENT TRAINED DIFFERENT!!!! He was built to be a warrior and learn on his own to be a husband and father!!!!
He had a lot of coke to help him still the greatest ever🤣
Oof poo
Hard to understand what u wrote
What up Stef I slept downstairs because GF b just because of Allergies
9o0p
L. T. Thank you for the many great memories.
LT is the most intimidating OLB there is
He changed the game and the way we were watching the OLB position
He’s the only OLB in NFL history ever named Most Valuable Player of the Regular season
They played him at RILB in the 3-4 at times
@@lutherodaniels3799
I never knew he occasionally played middle linebacker
IMO Lawrence Taylor is the Greatest football player of All-time.
And not even close if brady played in 80s he would've felt the wrath
@@boblarry649 I don't have Brady as the Greatest Quarterback of All-time...For me it's Joe Montana. At true peak value IMO Joe is better than Brady.
Parsons could surpass him..💯💯
Sorry, although I love LT the very best Football player of all time is Walter Payton. Was all time leading rusher & that coincided when the best player was put at Tailback. Also returned kicks at a high level in early part of career. Was also the backup Kicker & Punter. And was the 3rd string QB & actually started a game at QB vs New Orleans in 83 when Bears were decimated by injuries at position. In that game Chicago ran the single wing(or Wildcat for all you youngsters) & if you remember, Walter was a threat throwing the ball off of the halfback option pass. I love LT, he, Butkus, or Deacon Jones/Reggie White were the most dominant defensive players ever. But nobody, nobody(& in Chicago Michael Jordan is a notch below Sweetness. Believe it) is a better athlete, football player, or person than Walter Payton.
Without question, THE GREATEST FOOTBALL PLAYER THAT'S EVER PLAYED THE GAME POINT BLANK PERIOD.
You can tell he’s a good person who put himself in a terrible situation. He sees his mistakes and owns them like a man. I’m glad he turned it around the best he could. He’s the best LB that ever lived.
LT changed the way tthe game was played, both on offense and defense
Bc of his football IQ. He could alter the
Course of a game with one play, whether a sack, ff, interception, or just
By making the offense aware of where
He was on the field at all times. He played in pain on a regular basis. Remember the game where he played
With a separated shoulder, where he just put a brace on and went back in
And played. What a monster on the field.
I was fortunate enough to have taken my Son to one of Lawrence Taylor football camps a few years ago. His relationship with his daughter was the most memorable part of it. She organized the event spectacularly. 11:01 My son has pictures with him and speaks of it to this day. Mr Taylor is a beautiful story redemption. Id like to see him coach a HBCU
One of the best documentaries EVER
LT is The Greatest Football Player Either side of the b all he change the game both offense and defense I grew up in New York he wasn't Human The NFL to this present day hasn't seen a Footbal Player like LT
There will never be another LT!!!!❤❤❤❤
I HIGHLY doubt it! And if there is I would love to see him
Enjoyed this story. Being a Giants fan since the 70's, I'm grateful that I got to watch LT play. Had the pleasure of meeting him at an autograph session and got a picture taken with the greatest Giant of all! Thanks for all the memories and hope you have continued health and happiness!
Thank you for sharing this. This was beautiful. So many memories. This made me tear up at the end reflecting on my own life. The greatest Linebacker ever. The greatest defensive player ever. Arguably the greatest player ever. My hero for life, LT.
Lifelong Giants fan since 1965. LT was the greatest football player I ever saw but a haunted human being. I give him alot of credit for his journey to become a better man. Life is the most important and toughest game of them all. He's lucky he has had family stick by him no matter what. Best wishes to Lawrence Taylor and his great family.
If he can win the heart of his family and move on, and forget about the past, then he's good.
how was he haunted?? because he partied and did drugs??? so did everybody else in the 80s but he still took care of his bidness so how is he haunted? it’s mfs who did the same and because addicts and lost contracts. take yo olds ahh on. how tf you een figure out how to work youtube😭😭
Andre Tippett was every bit as good as LT.
My father had problems with alcohol but I still loved him to his dying day and still love him like he is still alive.
Where defensive players are concerned Lawrence Taylor is the GOAT, despite his off field trials and tribulations. His Daughters are beautiful ladies and I'd say the L.T is in good hands now. Thanks for the footballing memories #56. All the best, a Bears fan.
LT is the best football player EVER
I concur!
the 80s had the Giants LBs, Bears LBs, and Saints LBs .... possibly 3 of the best LB choirs ever
Singletary wilson marshall they where in my eyes da best.
He's got my respect. Dude you are one of a person. Been through more than most of us. I liked you as a player, love the Man! Peace
Been waiting to see this for years💯✊🏾..LT is a legend
I can't wait to get his A Football Life
The ending was priceless “LT was a bad Mother F---!!!!!”. He sure was. Greatest linebacker and defensive player I’ve ever seen.
L.T .. Best linebacker and football player in the history of the NFL
Lt is the greatest linebacker in THE NFL by a BBBBIG margin. No discussion no ifs no maybe or might be's..!!just unbelievably the best. I'm so fortunate to be about the same age so I was given a front way seat...!!"BUT" I hated the NY giants...!!!
LT is actually underrated because how much focus there is on his pass rushing. If you watch his game film playing the run and off in coverage you’ll see he was the best at those parts of the game too.
Completely changed the game of football 🏈
Always gave 110%
LT and JIM Brown are the Best EVER !!!
Man the end of this thing brought tears to my eyes. It was beautiful. There is nothing like kids man. I’ve lived a similar life. And the struggle was real. Especially a baby girl. And a baby boy. They deserve the best you can give them. God bless this man and his family. 🙏❤️
I still remember when he faced Bam Bam Bigelow at WrestleMania 6 in the WWE/F at the time. Nobody expected LT to win then when he did we were cheering like crazy! LT was the man
#56 is in every password & on every Giants jersey I've ever had... LT, Doc Gooden, Darryl Strawberry & Mike Tyson mid 80's NYC area royalty.... Young, flawed & troubled yes but also at the top of their professions at the same time... Tyson & Strawberry have come out the other side & appear to have found serenity, peace & happiness... LT & Doc I can't say the same as of now but this is just my opinion... I've met all four multiple times each over the years living in North NJ just outside NYC sometimes accidentally & all positive encounters... Very cool guys especially LT & every time I met him we were both drunk & twice I ren into him on a Saturday night in Hoboken before a 1pm home game well past curfew... But never did it effect his performance... He's the best ever, an all time all timer... PERIOD
I would never blink a judging eye in that man's direction no matter what he struggled with. Men like him gave me a childhood. Much respect LT #LTTheGOAT
Yea we all human and make mistakes. Most of us learn from the and grow to be better. LT really struggled. What he did off the field has no bearing on how I feel about his play on the field
How can character not be your first criterion for fandom? I will never understand that. I root for good people way before I root for gifted athletes. On rare occasions they end up being the same person.
@@MaximusWolfeits all personal preference! Some people like chocolate ice cream some like vanilla. There's no right or wrong
Awesome documentary that captured the outsized life LT lived, but also showed how human he is as he deals with the same problems as anybody else. LT is truly a one-in-a-billion person. Lucky to have been created not only with otherworldly physical talent - but a mental fortitude to match. People on a similar path of fame and fortune mixed with heavy drug abuse often succumb via a life-ending calamity or to the degenerative effects of abuse. It’s unbelievable that he’s still strong enough mentally and physically to live a chill retirement after everything he’s put himself through.
Definitely an icon in my book.
In my too! Best defensive player of all-time! My 2nd favorite football player of all-time
Florence had cheaper dentures rem
LT thank you for being my childhood hero and then being an example of getting back up when not knocked down in life.
I remember the day LT broke Joe Theisman leg on Monday night football gruesome to look at LT was the best defensive player I have ever seen loved watching him play LT could not play in today's game with all this player safety shit love the 80s game real entertainment back then
never was a giants fan, but after watching this, i am a lawrence fan........
Keep living in grace LT...stay genuine and your best days are still ahead. You have such a legend to play with and you can use past mistakes to accomplish even greater things.
I pray that's LT's mindset right now!
Which brings me to my next point:
Don't smoke crack!
😂. My favorite of all time
All the best football players are headaches lol. Lt is a Legend imagine what he would be like if he was focused on football instead of coke.
LT I love your quote about victimless UNLESS you count those who love you....perfectly put...I've lived it to my brother.
That quote really hit home with me!
Fame comes with a price. May God continue to guide him on his journey.
No truer words ever spoken
I knew LT at Bruton Heights in Williamsburg, Virginia when he was 10-12 years old. He was in my brother's sixth grade class. His brother was in my seventh grade class. A quiet kid, of average height and stocky, he wasn't known for being exceptionally athletic. He didn't play in the local peewee football league as far as I know, and was focused on being a baseball catcher. Imagine my surprise to learn of his future stardom.
WOW!!! That had to be unbelievable to witness! Did you or your brother ever reconnect with him after he made it to the NFL
@@moedeesbasketball No, we moved away when I was 13. Never saw him again, and I don't think he would have remembered me anyway.
Greatest LB of all time. This is what broken looks like.
The great LT! Simple as that! The best!
It’s really kind of amazing how people who have incredible abilities and accomplish great things almost always have negative forces in them that are almost just as prevalent.
LT is a legend and he changed the game for the better, every body has there vices u throw alot of money and fame in the mix that's a heck of a combo, glad he is doing better
That's where I'm at Redwood6968. No excuses but I understand that we all are human.
That's right. Some people give LT a hard time because of the drugs and the trouble, but most people who are given the fame and endless amounts of money would probably end up dying.
Tackling yourself is one of the hardest things that one can do.
One of the greatest players ever. A true legend
The opening quote nails it!!! We all have or had that same battle with life.
The Ending of what wants to be remembered was and still on point!!!
G.O.A.T. Hall Of Famer for sure
This is a real story of a man
The 🐐
Wow this documentary was something 😢 just looking at it from a man’s POV. LEGENDARY
Fantastic presentation. Took alot of courage on his part to put all this out there. To me he's my little kid memory of a nightmare who was the only thing standing between my idol, joe cool and another Superbowl. Fun to watch him play. Curious how they put out there that teams game planned around him. Ironically as a fan, when you're team was up against that man. Your eyes also became focused on him as well. He changed football forever. Thanks L.T. for the great memories.
Signed niners fan!
Lawrence Taylor is the only NFL Defensive player who can win a football game on Defense,Example:Thanksgiving 1982 versus the Lions in which he played the 2nd half, knee Injury! He made me liove Defense and the NY Giants,GOAT!❤
I’m a giants fan im68 now I remember the 85 bears beat us…playoffs and next year 86 prime…Taylor was a one man wrecking crew so quick watching him at giants stadium in 80’s…
His friend is the real deal, always by his side good time and more importantly the bad times...
Happy birthday LT
lOVE THESE qbS BEING SOO HONEST!!
I was there that year. I work as a beer vendor and got to work the whole event 5 times. All though I'm a Bengals fan I appreciate the history, I never could understand how he threw that weight around. He reminded me of Franco Harris a lot.
I was born in 88, he is the one player who’s career I wish I could have watched. Even just based on documentaries and highlights, I’ve never seen another player like him.
born in 88 also.. and a life long Giants fan.. wished i could have seen him too
Wow, was it fun to watch this guy play the game of football. Talk about old school. To say there will never be another one like LT, is a huge understatement. Takes a real man to stand up and say he was wrong. A true living legend. Not many fight the deamons he had to fight, and live to tell the tail.
I really dig both his wives...cool ladies, and you can tell how much they loved him.
Absolutely
You think that could happen today
The most dominant athlete that ever lived.
Super competitive,!!
Relax guy. He is a legend and the best linebacker to have ever played pro football obviously, but the best athlete to have ever lived?!? The guy smoked crack during his career for christ sake, I'm sure guys like Michael Jordan or Jerry Rice were better all around athletes.
Bo Jackson was the complete athlete
@@j.m.5744 i said dominant...not best ever.
No MJ is by far the most dominant athlete. LT is definitely the greatest linebacker to ever live tho
The most dominant and I do mean the most dominant defensive player to ever step on the gridiron. The greatest linebacker, inside or outside that ever played.
When I use to play street football with my friends I was tony Dorsett on offense and on defense I was LT
Favorite football player of all time
He was a FANATIC player! I loved watching him play
Thank you for posting this 🖤💪🏾🏈🥃
As a father, a friend, a person and foremost a man , when it's time the fewer regrets one has out weighs the alternative. I have some parenting regrets that I'm going to face after viewing this and I hope LT does the same.
Finally I get to see this again
Enjoy fam!
Never Give Up LT!
God Bless 🙏🏼
This was awesome!
The greatest IMO..
No debate!
Grampa LT! How beautiful for him!
Dino is a Lucky Man ... thats a great story
Fantastic documentary and I wished I hadn't looked up about his son's arrest. Saying that, he was some player considering i know nothing of American Football but like watching the documentaries about the game and kept hearing snippets about LT.
Lawrence Taylor is greatest linebacker in NFL history.
I can't wait to watch this tomorrow night when I can give it my all. I think LT has great acting chops...in the right roles he could do even greater things.
This is so funny as a kid from North Jersey who grew up a Giants fan and was in 9th grade we he arrived. We all thought Linda was so fine and would say “man LT got a fine wife”😇
Great job, Mr. Taylor great job
If LT was playing now he will be making $40 million a year because of the impact he has on the game
This was a very emotional video and LT is one of my all time favorite people and I’m so happy for to see this video and great story
LT LT #1 Junior Seau RIP #2 of all time
He's awesome though...
I like in that manic interview well after retirement when he predicted that he'd be okay at the end.
Good job, LT!~
1:36:11 LT was realy nervous when the cops approached like now what? you can see it in his eyes, they just wanted to show respect! that is awesome
Possessed on the football field. Played in a completely different dimension as anyone else. All while still being part of the team
LT was one of the greatest, period. It’s sad that he didn’t have more love in his heart for his wife and kids than he did.
But IMO he is the poster child for all that is wrong with sports today. These young men are catered to from middle school thru HS, it gets worse in college and by the time a young man makes it to the league (unless they have a really grounded strong father figure) in their life they behave like spoiled children. Because they are. I know I was. It’s not healthy to never be told No!! The new rules in college sports is just gonna make it worse. Kids will be millionaires while still in college. Because of this the quality of play will suffer. It’s hard to motivate young men that are already rich. One thing about LT he played like a house on fire because he loved the game and he played before the ridiculous contracts. IMO all college and pro sports are in sharp decline.
THANX 4 THE UPLOAD!!!
He made everybody on that team better and I'm talking about players who were already all pro. He made other teams fear him much, that other players were able to acel.
Harry Carson seems like a really smart guy
Larger than Life ❤
No question!!
