  • Arches National Park is simply amazing. Take the fabulous motorcycle ride through the park, then top it off with someplace even most park rangers don’t know it exists.
    We found a hidden gem called “The Tunnel” that we hiked back to and didn’t see a soul. The Tunnel is an opening that you can walk (OK - more like crawl) through for about 30 feet and pop out on the other side for a fabulous view of a canyon. The best thing about it? We had it all to ourselves!

    In 1969 while in the Marines I was at my parents house visiting. When it was time to leave I told my mother. I better get home. She started crying and said this will always be your home. When you brought up going home it made me think of it. She was the best mom ever.

    I admire your enthusiasm for big adventure. I started my trek today that will take about six weeks and 8-9k miles. Started in Huntsville, Alabama, tonight in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Going to Sioux Falls-mother and brother’s family are there. The 20th is my late wife’s birthday as well as Fathers Day so that day will be for them as they are next to each other. Then I will attend two BMW rallies, ride as many as the classic routes in the Rockies as possible and return home. I am a little concerned about the heat-today was 97 degrees, as nothing I do, wear or put in the seat prevents the dreaded Monkey butt. I am 68 years old so taking photos and videos to record everything so when I can no longer ride, I can reminisce and tell tales of my adventures, and my one month old granddaughter will know something about who I was.

    Just discovered your channel a few days ago. I’ve been binge watching during my TV time. My other favorite channels are SUV RVing and City Girl Unplugged. I have been craving change following my husband’s move to heaven in April. You all have inspired me to get out there and take some 3-7 day trips. I live in the beautiful state of Maine and have gathered the necessary equipment for car camping. I need to be home one week per month so it will be nearly impossible to get out west to explore so thank you for your videos. I am slightly anxious to be out on my own but as the weeks pass I am getting more comfortable managing by myself for the first time in 35 years. A month ago I invested in an electric bike and a hitch carrier so I can take her along on adventures. I use to love long walks and hiking but since the loss of my ACL in my left knee back in March long or difficult walks are not possible but bike riding doesn’t make me hurt. In my 67 years I have learned life is too short not to live everyday. So I don’t dwell on what I’ve lost and can’t do and try to live to the fullest with the abilities I have remaining.

    I really enjoyed my time there. I wished I had more time. We road around for 200mi and still didn't see everything there. It was this time last month. I did my first long trip on a bike. Been riding for 40yrs but never anything longer than 200mi or so, round trip. I'm glad it was to Moab. I've been through there too many times to count. But I couldn't really stop. I'm a truck driver, so this was a common route to get to and from Colorado. I've always wanted to stop and check out Moab. And it was just beautiful in the truck, I knew it would be even better on bike. And it was. We're going to Fort Bragg CA in August. If I didn't have to work, I probably would start living like you guys. Not much difference from living in a truck. No running water, limited electricity. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 something for me to think about now. Lol

      @TwoWheelsBigLife  3 года назад +1

      I see those wheels turning, Michelle! Good luck on figuring out what works best for you. But I would imagine a truck would come in handy in adverse weather conditions.

    • @michellericard4850
      @michellericard4850 3 года назад

      @@TwoWheelsBigLife totally. A bit more protected from the weather. But wind is still our enemy. We can blow over driving and even just sitting parked. There's no staking a truck down. Lol We park close together to block the wind. You both do an amazing job on securing Ruby. I just went camping and the wind was horrible. Setting up a tent in the wind is super hard. You both are inspirational and getting me to get outside more.

    My lifestyle would be like yall are doing with my wife but only on one bike and a small camper similar to yours. But my fears are my health and monetary. Am i healthy enough to do something like this were both in our early 60s i have heart and diabetic issues and how do you make a budget for living like this you know unexpected costs for repairs maintenance of the bike and camper food lodgjng if needed clothing etc. I guess ill never know for sure so ill just mooch off yall and live through you vicariously and keep watching and enjoying your videos. Thank you both very much for what you do!!!
