If you know any of the people in this clip then you'll know most of them come from tkd or karate backgrounds or both and just decided to move on to something else, try something new, more dynamic, less static. I can't speak for all of them but I know when I'm grading we still incorporate locks, throws and traditional katas as well as displaying the ability to punch and kick with strength, speed and accuracy. It's not MMA but it's what we chose to do just like some people choose to kick a ball.
Respect. One of the founding elements of martial arts is obviously something you are lacking. Kickboxing or sport karate may have traditional origins but it is a modern day sport which, as in all modern sports involves sponsorship and hence the patches. Perhaps no-one wants to sponsor you and the inspiration for your comment is born out of jealousy for some of the truly great fighters in this clip.
@SuperBluepurple i just saw this comment now 10 months after you posted it but if you look at my channel you'll see over 950 videos with contact including knockouts, k-1, full contact and more. It just happens that i had a lot of photos and put them together in a slide show. If you dont like it, dont watch it. simples.
I don't respect weakness I believe in technique and holding and indomidable spirit over ones opponent. Point Sparring is useless ones upon a time it was great now its so dumbed down its pathetic. I've had sponsers and I am a two time National champion in Taekwondo and Karate. there is no jelousy I just know the truth and that is whatthese guys attempt to do is pathetic and for what they train for only a handfull of them could truely defend themselfs I could tell you why but im out of characters.
Yet another reason sport karate sucks. but thats an argument for another day I just want to adress one thing Wear a gi people represent your martial art well its not nascar and your not a x-mas tree you don't need 1600 patches it makes you look retarted. and it doesn't make you a better martial artist.
There are already light continuous divisions and for the first time in 2010 there will be full contact added to it as well as forms divisions.
