    *proceeds to talk about a bolt gun with a 22" barrel*

    • @BuffRANGE
      @BuffRANGE 4 года назад +2

      Q does offer the fix in shorter barrel lengths. I meant from a pure aspect that I can fold the stock and cut 10" off the length, and fit it in shorter cases, and because the stock is thin that extra bulge you'd get from doing that isn't there :D

  • @JimHarmer

    0:32 That’s some crazy trigger technique. Can you actually hit anything like that?

    • @BuffRANGE

    I’ve been a .308 guy all my life. Recently picked up a 6.5 creedmore with a 22” barrel and holy moly, what a laser beam. I’m still going to swap it out for a proof research .308, but I’m so impressed with the 6.5 for prs.

    The bolt lift looks ridiculously heavy by the way everyone who shoots the Fix on camera has to place their thumb on top of the bolt to gain leverage. The Sig Cross doesn't have that problem it's also 1/2 the price comes with a better stock design with more rapid adjustability and it's action is overbuilt to handle the higher pressures of the new 277 Fury.

    • @ixiairisborne1695
      @ixiairisborne1695 4 года назад

      Until he started talking about the bolt being sticky, I was just assuming that was an issue with poor leverage with keeping the bolt handle so low, so it can sit in that space in the folded stock.

    • @gsxr1189
      @gsxr1189 4 года назад

      @@ixiairisborne1695 Some rifles having a short bolt throw also causes the bolt lift to be very heavy as most rifles cock on lift thus forcing the action to do more work in less movement some manufacturers overcome this better than others. There's a gif here on this page that compares the bolt lift of the Fix to the Sig Cross.

      @ Well just because you're poor doesn't mean you get to decide what's "overpriced". You have no idea what goes into R&D or manufacturing. Yes, sometimes you are paying for the name like Knight's Armament.

    Did you shoot more than two, 3-round groups? Did you shoot any groups?

    • @BuffRANGE
      @BuffRANGE 4 года назад

      Yes, I shot quite a few groups with it. I was simply highlighting the best I was able to get, as talking for 5-10 minutes about groups,would be even more boring than usual. I normally only shoot at min 5 shot groups, but the Fix and suppressor were on loan, and thanks to the gov't that loan process is 2 weeks MAX. All of the ammo sourced for this particular review was done by me. When the manufacturer supplies me with a total of 10 rounds of each ammo type, that really short changes the review process for ammo (those are posted to my channel in the coming weeks). :D TL:DR I do better next time..

    I'm not sure brushing off the need to fix the gun with a piece of velco on something that expensive is the best option. Its good that for most the solution is simple but lets be real, the gun should run correctly out of the box. We expect this of everything down to high points.

    So what’s the point of the funky bolt? Other rifles makers (like Blaser) use similar systems to shorten the action and make it faster. This one does neither

  • @ixiairisborne1695
    @ixiairisborne1695 4 года назад +1

    I always cringe when people say "sub-moa at x yards." If it's sub-moa at 100 yards, isn't sub-moa at 200 yards, and the projectile didn't drop below the speed of sound during flight to the target, then that's not an issue with the gun. Either you're shooting into wind and aren't aware of it, or some other issue with environmental effects to external ballistics.

    • @BuffRANGE
      @BuffRANGE 4 года назад

      Did I say it wrong? I'll gladly admit I had a lot of luck shooting these groups, but I always state the actual inch spread, and I use the Ballistic-X app to help me accurately measure them. The 200 yd 3 shot group, was shot with subsonic ammo, and the group size on the paper is .78", which per the app = .37 MOA
