  • Question: In the early 1960s, Taekwondo spread rapidly under the influence of the late Master Lee Joon Gu and the late Master Cho Si Hak, so many Americans, regardless of gender and age, were able to experience Taekwondo. At that time, there were far more young, middle-aged, and elderly citizens, but now the focus is on early childhood and young children. This phenomenon is evaluated as Taekwondo becoming a sport and making 150 million practitioners worldwide. But at the same time, the martial arts aspect of Taekwondo has faded a lot, and the original spirit of Taekwondo has disappeared. Still, opinions about the authentic nature of Taekwondo are divided. Seuseungnim, please teach us the true core spirit of Taekwondo that Taekwondo should aim for in the future.
