I drove 14 hours from Maryland to this show to celebrate my 46th birthday. It was a great reminder of why I quit drinking 10 months ago. It can be a very lonely place. I wish I could help him get the support he needs. Man life is so much better without booze if you cant control it. Sorry, rant over.
Another Elliott Smith? I hate to think that, but addiction and mental health challenges typically have poor outcomes. What's also sad is that the band, especially Mike Mogis, have to compensate for Conor's decompensation. I love Conor, too, you guys. Let's all send some healing vibes out to him. He deserves it.
It's crazy he just covered st Ides heaven. And it's really weird that you say this because I had the same thought when I was watching this. And just a question but do you really think Elliot committed suicide? Obviously he was very suicidal and depressed but I don't know as an (x) heroin addict myself that's the way I would go out and considering Elliot was a heroin addict as well. And I was briefly on methamphetamine for a while and when you're on that you're extremely paranoid so the fact he chose to stab himself two times in the heart penetrating his chest plate with no hesitation wounds basically kind of speaks for itself when his wife had a history of threatening people with knives.. and if I'm not mistaken I think she was in the medical field so she should have known not to remove that knife and she did. 😭 Sadly I don't think we will ever know the truth.. but unless someone wants to re open the case and you know what Tom Grant (the private investigator that Courtney Love hired to find Kurt Cobain) said, ".. if you want to get away with murder kill a junkie"
Most likely Elliot Smith was murdered considering the autopsy report didn’t determine if it was self inflicted or not and remains open as homicide. No hesitation wounds and who would choose to kill themselves like that!?

Okay obviously our favorite sad boy is a little bit too sad 😭 and this was very hard and painful to watch but as an all around bright eyes Connor lover of all shapes and forms whether that be mystic valley or desaparecidos I've seen it all and Connor really does have an issue when it comes to his sound and how it actually sounds to the audience. I have seen him literally stopped sets to tell the sound mixer to put the volume up in the monitors obviously he was not having it with that microphone and he can get very, for lack of a better word, annoyed with bad sound because he always wants to sound his best! I've been seeing Bright eyes since 2006.. and I don't care if anyone wants to get mad about this but I'm sorry The boy hasn't been right since Phoebe! How you going to leave your own label and go over the dead oceans when you have saddle Creek? And Phoebe obviously drank the Kool-Aid because she's like a household name now and I think Connor really resents that because it represents everything he is against. 🤷🏻♀️ And the last statement was only mere speculation and opinion. I know everybody wants to forget like bocc didn't happen but it did and it was amazing and what the hell, no closer? I swear when she put out that song 'motion sickness' I was like OMG this girl has balls of brass! Because that clearly in my eyes was directed at Conor. Maybe I'm just a bright eyes Stan who reads a little much into things.. but in all seriousness I truly really love this band and him so much and I hope he can find some solace and peace. Connor your music has been a driving force in my life since I've heard it for the first time I have not stopped listening to it. His music is soundtrack to My Life. And I know a lot of other bright eyes fans feel the same..we love you Conor. 🌟💕✌️🗽
Motion sickness is about Rryan Adams. And I’ve been listening to Conor since he was a teenager, he’s just drunk in this video. No need to read much into it beyond that

I wasn't trying to stir the pot but just making a timeline that seems arguable to me. I guess Conor over did it this night but he must have been drinking an awful lot because he a professional alcoholic 🤷

But in Conor's defense all his side projects seem to be lightning in a bottle and then no real reason why material stops. Conor is a musical butterfly and does go from project to project. I think he's just really burnt out from the extensive touring. I'm in the NY area and saw them twice just on this tour..(had tickets to a third show but couldn't go)

Just because he had an off night I have seen Connor recover and tear it down the next night .. if there's anything off with the venue and he doesn't like the way it sounds he can get very very annoyed.. but he will rewire a PA system in a club and stop the set and song to fix things if it's not up to his liking. Wow, I was so excited to see them on Wednesday but these performances are terrible. Even though the tickets are $25 it’s not worth the two hour drive.
