I got this mouse today and have to say it's quite fun to use, I'm glad you had this idea back in '08 and actually managed to make it a reality after all these years! The only "issue" is that it's missing the middle click, if you're ever working on an updated version would it be possible to have a double tap on the scroll wheel activate a middle click? Most touch sensors for stuff like bluetooth headphones these days can easily interpret multiple gestures differently, so that should be able to be fitted in now more easily than back in 2019, and would be a great addition to an otherwise already great mouse. Still, I'm very glad you made this. I needed a mouse for my Steam Deck when it's docked so I can interact with the linux environment more easily and this mouse fits the bill perfectly while also looking pretty. The middle click is thankfully not that important for my uses on the Deck, so it's not a deal breaker in any way.
This gave me a warp ed idea of controller design. But seriously i love the design and work you put into the product. Ive been a big fan of 8bitdo for years now and its nice to hear from the designer directly. Well done
Im impressed that you guys managed to make it also well priced. This genuinely seems like a great product. Im so glad to see that you became successful so fast!
Congratulations Daniel! I would submit Clarke's 3rd law is what you have achieved on your long journey to a great product. Nicely done! I've had my controls set for the heart of the sun, since 68' but little did I know that it would take until 86' with an intentional near miss and firing the retros that the voyage home would end up 35 years before I left this morning. I've gone out to find myself. If I should return before I get back; please keep me here. I warp, therefore I am. 6 thumbs up!
First things first, WARP! ♥️ How happy I am to know this thing comes true! I've been in love with this design since I first saw it many years ago. I'm a retro gamer at heart, a design lover, and my first gaming console was a NES... so you can imagine the rest. It's good to know that a company like 8Bitdo takes care of the production, they're trully awesome. No doubt I will be getting mine. Congratulations and cheers!
Holy Crap Daniel! This is such a sweet project! And to think how long ago you thought of it! What better time to bring to market than right before Christmas! Warp! Warp! Warp!!! Great video as well! Entertaining as usual!
That is super cool Daniel! Congrats on having what looks to be a fantastically designed and well put together mouse made, finally after all those years. Well done! I'm looking forward to getting one myself. If I don't get one soon, I shall go on the WARPath (sorry!)
Haha! For those that won't want to wait to see if they're the winner (really, way bigger turnout than I thought 😳) you can always buy one! Thanks for the kind words!
That's cool project ^ ^ Glad you managed to make it into reality. I want to warp into future and see what else you can make. P.S. That bonfire smoke made me feel weird haha.
Warp. There are a few homebrew games that have mouse controls for NES games. Currently people use an adapter for the SNES mouse to NES to use the feature. I am curious if it would work on a NES wireless receiver?
I wish it was Bluetooth... I can't spare the USB port... Beautiful! It's one thing to make your design, so satisfying. I can't even imagine how would it feel to see your own vision as a product.
well i must talk about my favorate 80's tv show warp zone. it was a thrilling epic about 2 best friends who travel through random portals to enchanted lands. the show lasted 2 seasons and ended on a clif hanger. the two friends are traped in a prehistoric hell hole and have lost there portal device. as they relise the worst has happened it fadded to black. just thought more people should know about it. (if you can tell this is my contest entry lol)
It's not really years of constant work, it's more intermittent work over the course of a few years. If this was the only product, and we worked on it full time, it would've been out much quicker.
Anybody else notice the rewinded bonfire in the bg? Warp
Came to the comments to make sure I wasn't going crazy because if this.
I started wondering if someone dosed me with acid. Ha!
Part of the warp?
Yes! Psychedoolic, Baby!
Yep, was waiting for it!
Thank you Daniel, very cool!
How is this video so small???
The design is so brilliant the introduction even put the fire into a time warp.
This is awesome!
indeed
The bonfire in the background went backwards into a warp zone
Damn, thought is was a secret solution for global warming.
I can't buy one anymore, looks like they sold out at warp speed.
First: Warp.
Second: There better be an easter egg for up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A.

You could map a pedal like Elgato, X-Keys, or the cheaper iKKEGOL options to MMB click.
I had no idea why everyone was saying “warp” over and over until I finally reached the end.
This gave me a warp ed idea of controller design. But seriously i love the design and work you put into the product. Ive been a big fan of 8bitdo for years now and its nice to hear from the designer directly. Well done
0:17 why was the fire in reverse?
Used negatively charged wood, burns backwards. Starts like ashes and coals, ends up as beautiful boards in the end.
@@SwitchAndLever Too funny!
@@SwitchAndLever What?? That would require a full entropy reversal resulting in warp of the spacetime continuum!!!
@@Farlig69 Never mind that will result in warped boards, good only for the fire.
Switch & Lever : Those fires are great on hot summer days, since they absorb heat instead of emitting it.
it's amazing how you wrap this content. masterfully crafted, oh i mean masterfully wrapped
Is what you get when Logitech and Nintendo once had an affair in the 90s and timewarped it into 2019
Warp always a good tale of "that will never sell" and years later you have the chance. Good goin man

You are a mad scientist/designer! I love how you warp our perceptions of how nice should be.
I have to make a comment using the word 'warp' somewhere in the comment.
Warp! That mouse looks sick!
I don’t know how I can fit warp naturally into a sentence.
Love how you used the controller design to warp a mouse. It's sweet. Thanks for the giveaway!
My nes controller is broken so i think i will warp my controller into a mouse.

I love your new intro that transitions to the video through a red time warp.

That time warp fire at the beginning definitely caught my eye in that intro.
This video warped into my first page and I decided to check out this cool mouse! Not disappointed. What a nice warp!
Warp!! Amazing idea! I’m glad you were able to see your brain child through. Well done sir!
What happened to most of the instruments when you played Super Mario Bros? Did they warp out of existence?
Congratulations on the release!
Oh, and WARP.

Great product! Warp
I really like the left and right click buttons ..My hands are old and it can be hard on my fingers using a regular mouse
Warp. There are a few homebrew games that have mouse controls for NES games. Currently people use an adapter for the SNES mouse to NES to use the feature. I am curious if it would work on a NES wireless receiver?
I am wonder whether we still have chance to get the fantastic mouse and pad.
Congratulations on your baby! Stay on the warpath with your genius!
I love your enthusiasm for design. As someone who just purchased this and a Macbook Pro 16" - Any solution for USB C?
Hi Daniel! Back in 2013 we emailed back and forth about possibly getting this made. So cool to see it finally got put into production!!
Could you post it through a warp-pipe?
you didn't show how to get to the warp zone in mario with this? 🤔🎮
I wish it was Bluetooth... I can't spare the USB port... Beautiful! It's one thing to make your design, so satisfying. I can't even imagine how would it feel to see your own vision as a product.
Wow that's really kl proud for you man well done!!
Wow! Thats the coolest thing ive seen in a very long time. My jaw warped to the floor 😅
this is the litteral definition of a gaming mouse
Did I forget to setup that one screen warp?
Warp
That looks so awesome! Is it easy to remap the buttons on Mac also?
This mouse warps you to the days when Nintendo did controllers like the Power Glove. It's amazing.
This will warp my workspace and become an awesome conversation piece at my desk.

Fantastic. Love the time warp that the bonfire was in too...i
Did we WARP through time? This is great!

You did a time warp on us! Great design and beautiful mouse!
This is fantastic, it made me warp to my childhood :D
A warp to a greater future where all our new tech products have designs inspired by our old tech.
Can you share why it took years of collaboration to make it? Was it nailing the ergonomics or finding the right feeling components?
Warp

What a time warp! Love the retro look.
Awesome story behind the development. Since this is a retro mouse, is it compatible with OS/2 Warp?
Warp.
WAAAAAARP....
Ok so... getting that out of the way.... Does it come with the mouse pad?
I remember that mouse, I didn't know it was you who created it! Man, 11 years...
You've been great all this time tho, amazing!
And well... warp.
Still wondering how the buttons feel. Are they clicky or mushy? Warp
Nice! Never thought I'd come across the designer of a mouse from a game controller company I like
What is the warp and weft count in that NES inspired mouse pad??
It would be awesome to see an Ume-Tomte inspired product as well out in the wild. Congrats Daniel! Warping great!
Well I already have the tomte tattoo 😉
Omg I didnt know how much I needed a mouse like this, im such a fan of 8bitdo's stuff, oh warp!
Using the scroll wheel area looks like you are gently stroking it in the nose. 😄 Looks like a great end to a long journey. Thanks for sharing!
Wrapping in time to the Turbo Graphics, I love it
A modern warp of a classic!!! Love it!!! I want one!!!
Did I just WARP here in the middle of the night because of the algorithm and absolutely loved it? YES I DID AND I WANT IT
Love the fire screen at the beginning, warp!
Pretty awesome warp from the past!
I had never seen any image of this device prior to this video. That thumbnail got me. I'm surprised it's a reality and I love it! Warp
