The flag table topper quilt is stunning. Cute idea! My kids were freaked out about automatic toilets. Traveling anywhere was such a chore trying to get them to go. Just had cataract surgery….I was a little scared but it was a breeze…then had retina surgery yesterday and have to stay face down for a week ugh! Still have to wear readers!! Miss stitching… but sooo happy for floss tube..thank y’all for sharing have a great week!!
Ugh!!! That sounds horrible. But we need healthy eyes for our hobbies so it will all be worth it. Get well soon and have a wonderful rest of the summer🥰
I had a heck of a time with progressives and actually switched to bifocals fir a few years because i couldnt get used to them. Then i went up a level on progressive lenses to the ones that give you more viewing area. It made all the difference and i adjusted to them no problem. I always look forward to your videos!

Love seeing your wips and finishes. I love your Autumn Rules. Turned out really nice. I bought the pattern after seeing your last video and Janet was in love with the colors! LOL! Janet, my husband had cataract surgery but he didn't get to have the laser surgery. He's on Medicare and they only allow the older cutting method if you want to have no out of pocket, so it has taken longer to heal. Before the surgery he would tell me it was like someone smeared Vaseline on his eye, he could hardly see. He has new glasses and can see wonderfully, although he did wear glasses before. He can see so much better. I'm sure it will be fine, but the sooner you get it done, the sooner you'll recover and will see better. You can always go to a different eye doctor if aren't happy with this one. Sorry I haven't sent the mail I was going to send, we had 4 deaths (one family 3 very close friends) and has affected me greatly. I'll try to get that mail out this week. Love watching you two! Me and you Heather a mini kick! I just stitched 3 of the Jack o lantern jubilee charts and another small beaded pumpkin this past week! I didn’t touch any of my larger wips at all! I just wasn’t feeling them! I have Autumn in the village coming tomorrow by Stoney Creek and I have ordered all of them to stitch! So excited it’s my birthday stitch so have to begin it tomorrow! I'm a one and done person myself! I completed my " Rose Sampler" last month in 311 to go in my bedroom. I left it as in the pattern just put my initials and year in. Love your idea. Didn't like the no J in the alphabet. I sure miss the fall from the great northwest. Happy Stitching 😊🧵🪡

I really enjoy your FlossTube and Janet, you enable me so much! I had to stop the video and purchase the Jingle All The Way book! I’ll have it by Thursday and I can’t wait to thumb through it! I love the crochet border on your flag! I need to learn to crochet. I have all the things to do it, just gotta take that step. I made that flag quilt. It was my second quilty project. I lost my points when I put the border on, but I still love it. it takes practice for sure. I got my very first pair of prescription glasses about a year and a half ago. I went with progressive lenses for the same reasons you spoke about. It took getting used to, but after a while, it was second nature and it’s nice not having to keep putting on and taking off glasses. Have a wonderful trip, Heather and see you in September!

Hi Ladies! I told you that book was awesome, Janet!! As soon as I saw all the gingerbread, I knew you would want it. Heather, your strawberry cross stitch is darling on that gingham fabric. I have the same problem with my eyes as you do, Janet. I have a cataract starting in my right eye and it’s constantly blurry. I got a new prescription and glasses in May and it’s already blurry again. The dr says the cataract isn’t bad enough to operate on, but it’s driving me crazy! I have progressives and I didn’t have any problem at all getting used to them, so hopefully you won’t either. Have a great trip Heather and happy new kitchen, Janet! What about a fan so you aren't so hot? I have a little one that sits by my sewing machine. I've been using it every day. Makes a big difference in my comfort level.
I am only hot after running around getting stuff ready for the video. We do have a fan upstairs it is just annoying on a video. And Heather is always hot no matter what lol. I actually have a vent right under my sewing cabinet so theres ac that keeps me quite comfortable.

If your prescription on your glasses and placement are correct you should not be sick from it. If your doctor is good he would be trying to help you instead of saying live with it. I have progressed to tri focals and have never had a problem. Good luck. There is nothing worse than having to be unhappy with your eye site. I went once and had a terrible reaction. I told them I wanted a new test and found out the doctor (whom I had never seen before) had the prescription 4 times stronger than I needed.
Oh my goodness! Keep your fingers crossed for me. I WILL be going back in if this is not a 100% fix. I have to see for all my hobbies! Have a great August🥰

Lol we don’t have a pattern. Lori Holt has a wonderful tutorial on her flosstube. She makes her bags almost exactly like we do except her zipper has a neater finish inside. We just don’t have the set up or equipment to film a good tutorial. Plus she has been a quilt teacher for years and is really good at it! Have a wonderful August🥰

Jeanette, Did you say that the flag quilt is a pattern or did you design it yourself? I''m interested in the star block and what size it is.Also, I don't understand how you attached the scallop border to the quilt. Did you do the scallop and then blanket stitch it somehow to the quilt?
Hello! The flag is actually a Lori Holt free pattern on her blog. She also did a tutorial on her youtube last year I believe in the summer. It was part of her vintage block sew along she did. I first did a blanket stitch all around the block so I would have a foundation to crochet the shells into. Hope this helps!
You know what would be really cute, Jeanette, is instead of pegs on your thrift purchase you could get a dowel and make a bar that goes across. Then you could make little seasonal quilts to hang from it.

Hi Ladies! I told you that book was awesome, Janet!! As soon as I saw all the gingerbread, I knew you would want it. Heather, your strawberry cross stitch is darling on that gingham fabric. I have the same problem with my eyes as you do, Janet. I have a cataract starting in my right eye and it’s constantly blurry. I got a new prescription and glasses in May and it’s already blurry again. The dr says the cataract isn’t bad enough to operate on, but it’s driving me crazy! I have progressives and I didn’t have any problem at all getting used to them, so hopefully you won’t either. Have a great trip Heather and happy new kitchen, Janet! Nancy and I are headed to Boise tomorrow to go shopping without you ☹️, but it will be fun! See you in September!! 🪡🧵🪡🌞🌼🌸🍓🍅🐝💕💕💕

I feel like I’m too young for this too! I am giving the glasses a try mainly because I am just too busy right now lol. But if I don’t have perfect vision like he swears I will I am going back in and will be getting a second opinion. I mean they don’t get better right?! What about a fan so you aren't so hot? I have a little one that sits by my sewing machine. I've been using it every day. Makes a big difference in my comfort level.
I am only hot after running around getting stuff ready for the video. We do have a fan upstairs it is just annoying on a video. And Heather is always hot no matter what lol. I actually have a vent right under my sewing cabinet so theres ac that keeps me quite comfortable.

If your prescription on your glasses and placement are correct you should not be sick from it. If your doctor is good he would be trying to help you instead of saying live with it. I have progressed to tri focals and have never had a problem. Good luck. There is nothing worse than having to be unhappy with your eye site. I went once and had a terrible reaction. I told them I wanted a new test and found out the doctor (whom I had never seen before) had the prescription 4 times stronger than I needed.
Oh my goodness! Keep your fingers crossed for me. I WILL be going back in if this is not a 100% fix. I have to see for all my hobbies! Have a great August🥰

Lol we don’t have a pattern. Lori Holt has a wonderful tutorial on her flosstube. She makes her bags almost exactly like we do except her zipper has a neater finish inside. We just don’t have the set up or equipment to film a good tutorial. Plus she has been a quilt teacher for years and is really good at it! Have a wonderful August🥰

Jeanette, Did you say that the flag quilt is a pattern or did you design it yourself? I''m interested in the star block and what size it is.Also, I don't understand how you attached the scallop border to the quilt. Did you do the scallop and then blanket stitch it somehow to the quilt?
Hello! The flag is actually a Lori Holt free pattern on her blog. She also did a tutorial on her youtube last year I believe in the summer. It was part of her vintage block sew along she did. I first did a blanket stitch all around the block so I would have a foundation to crochet the shells into. Hope this helps!
