- Everything I spent whilst on a budget in Swedish Lapland 🤑
📍 Abisko, Sweden
For the first 24 hours of my trip to Abisko, I wanted to see whether it was possible to have fun whilst being on a tight budget 😨
In my research I found very little information on what you could do if the expensive guided tours weren’t an option for you.
AND, just how important a guide is to finding the Northern Lights?! 🌌
🚂 HOW DO YOU GET TO ABISKO?
You can fly into Kiruna and get a transfer, or do what I did and get an overnight train from Stockholm! Check out my previous videos for what that was like.
🏨 WHERE IS THE CHEAPEST PLACE TO STAY IN ABISKO?
The cheapest hostel in Abisko is Abisko.net which is in the town, a 35 minute walk from the Turistation, which is on the edge of Abisko National Park.
Not only was it cheapest per night, but it also had a cheap bed linen and towel hire and it’s warm boot and clothes rental was pretty affordable too 🥾
There are kitchens, a few showers and a loo on each floor. They also have a huge sauna which is open for 1 hour a night. Yes, you have to take your clothes off but don’t worry, you can use towels to cover yourself if you’d prefer!
It is basic, but well cared for and I absolutely loved the vibe, the people and the fact that I felt like I was back on a school trip.
🌌 CAN YOU SEE THE NORTHERN LIGHTS ON A BUDGET?
The wonderful thing is… the sky is free!!! So yes, but it will come down to your weather conditions.
Abisko is a really good place to spot them - apparently you have an 80% chance if you stay for 3 nights - but to help you out, download the ‘Aurora’ app.
It’s also worth getting away from any light sources and if you want to take nice photos, take a DSLR/Mirrorless camera though you can still pick it up on your phone too 🤳
Finally - the lights can come and go QUICKLY - so wrap up warm, take a flask and get ready to wait!
📣 HAVE YOU SEEN THE NORTHERN LIGHTS BEFORE?
If so let us know where and any tips you have for spotting them!

Which month did you travel in?
Did you see the northen lights?
i think that is a per kilo price for the cheese, so its probably about dubbel for the whole thing.
It's 1kg though
@@laurenanderson7330 if you pause the video at 30 seconds and make it full screen (monitor), you can see the tag that says 2,2 kg
