- Today we're testing out the feature "Total decoupled board rotations". Technically it's a way more realistic way of playing Skater XL, than what I've been used to.

i play total decoupled, you gotta mess with your torque and body spin to get the most out of it
I used to play with full decouple, been on a really Session vibes this days. But BS 360 kickflips look gooooooood with full decouple, full cab flip fakie and nollie look awesome as well
idk if anyone knows this, but you dont need to do a varial flip and 180 to do a bs flip with decoupled board rotations. You can actually get a regular bs and fs flip with the regular stick configs. Its a matter of playing with it.

First time seeing this game and I was getting skate 3 vibes like crazy, but when he fell and I saw that ragdoll I got really sad because the game's budget really shows.

The frontside flips can look good with practice. Do it with a hardlfip and it comes out like a Muska flip
Game looks way better using fros mod and turn head when setting up fakie landing fakie landing switch etc . He doesn’t turn his head so weird .

Backside and every stance of switching to a 180 spinning the body varial will keeping that trick in a good rhythm to providing versatility and progressions.
These setting suck ass, fucked up my whole game. When I kick flip my board goes like 50 mph

Yo aha no way, I learned kickflip body varials before regular kickflips too as a kid, used to get me upset that I couldn't normally, so that's why I learned heels first 😂

I'm on console and trying to decide between skater XL and session...
What do you guys think? Any advice?
I would say session for a console player, just for the stats menu itself! In my opinion XL is worth if you own a pc.
I agree with Louis. I am an PC and Console player who had 300hrs in Session before XL was released. PC modded XL is my fave and what I choose to play still but for Console, Session is a lot better and it is hard to recommend XL. XL is having an update this year but when and what it will be is likely not what the community want. Kinda the same with Session but it is a far more complete Skateboarding game on console.
Session controls are brutal. I haven’t tried XL but my understanding is the controls are easier, but still harder than EA Skate series
On console, even though it has it's issues, I'd go for session where you have more content and can modify your stats. Although if you want a game that is easier to learn and more forgiving but also feels smoother (+ it's pretty floaty) you can check out XL. I'd recommend to watch some gameplay of people playing on actual console to get an impression of what you get withou the mods.
The most realistic way to play SkaterXL is..
Steam > Library > SkaterXL > Right Click > Uninstall > Close > Right Click SXL again >Remove From Account.
Wait for Skate 4.
