How refreshing to have the well spoken type of Brit ( sorry, yes i know .... ) and also super informed and ( see Gary more of course ) insightful, concise and snappy engaging delivery :) ...hurray for Britain and what it can produce in quality media
Hi Gary. I always love watching your videos, particularly your live streams, and I have learnt so much from you over the years, thank you. It’s also lovely to see Mark back on the channel, and I would love to see more of the Gary and Mark double act in future videos!
Really enjoy the Gary+Mark lives, and getting the two perspectives. I understand the point about specialty dining as you can get that experience on land. Interesting to hear your views on the layout of the QG restaurant. All the best for the rest of the voyage😊
As a cunarder of a fair few voyages this my take... 1.the colour pallete in upper level of Queens room cow shit brown and purple seats NO! NO! NO! 2. The magnificent light feature in qjuens room now replace tith A MATT BLACK CIELING WITH CHEAP B&Q LIGHTS!! 3.The terrible chevron and glaring geometric carpet patterns on carpets everywhere. 4. The seating in many public areas doesn't look comfortable, not seats that you can kick back and read a book for a couple of hours in 5. The promenade deck I'd better not comment on... It's that bad. 6. The theatre looks a major problem, the stage is only raised very little and 50 %of theatre is level. So I'll be looking at only shoulders and head of performance!! On plus side the cabins are an improvement and so are bathrooms. But the Anne is far too much celebrity. I'm very concerned about my cruise on her, could be the first and last
Thanks for your answer regarding Celebrity Edge class. We have booked a mini return cruise to Hamburg in January to give us a taste. From watching all the videos so far I am mildly disappointed the ship is not more modern. I get the feeling the QA isn't really appealing to anybody and they have missed the mark in what they were trying to achieve.
Thankyou for your review I have been disappointed with the feedback on QA we sail from Sydney so QE is the ship we are use to we have sailed on her several times. We join QA in February from Sydney on a sector of the World cruise so any crew and service issues will be in the past .We love the tradition and service of Cunard as being older we remember ships before they became floating theme parks.
Didn’t get to watch live, but just finished it now. Very pleased to hear Mark is so positive about Anne knowing how much he likes Victoria. A bit worrying that you say there are quite a few bad tables in QG… hopefully they will reconfigure in time. We do not like tables for two that are in rows, we like them on their own as prefer to enjoy our food and our own company rather than having people talk at us throughout the meal.
A very good presentation- thank you for doing it. It was very interesting to hear Mark’s views and we enjoyed his good input. It will be good to see him more often!
Interesting discussion. When I was on QE in Feb a lot of staff were going to the QA. I was surprised that they had lot’s of newbies! I saw the cruise director was the chap who was on the QM2 in March last year.
Tx for the livestream, very informative. I have a sense that my views about the QA will be pretty much aligned with Mark's. I was also wondering about the specialty dining menus if I would try them cos I will likely be in the Queen's Grill. But I must say that Tramonto looks interesting and fairly reasonable too. My cruise on QA is for much later on so hopefully the crew and processes will be fully bedded in by then. Looking forward to it!
🥰 the review great insights Mark is clearly Team Cunard but that also helps balance things out Have been disappointed with what the different vlogs of QA are showing because Art Deco is my jam Bright Lights does sound like fun Hope you put your Tony award performance on 😂
There were very few solo cabins on QM2 until the “remastering” in 2016; they may add in future, but solos are less profitable as they spend less on board.
Hi Gary, have you ever caught Covid on your cruises? I am still a bit scared of that ruining my cruise. Last 2 times I wore a mask when among others. I have only been those 2 since Covid. My friend in Sept 2023 went on Oceania in Europe and she became quite ill with it, and it ruined their trip, sad when it all costs thousands of $$$.
I don’t eat any food with garlic or spices. I hate the smell and I can taste garlic for 24 hours after. I am a Supertaster. Celebrity gives me the next night’s menu for me to choose so that they can accommodate me. Can Cunard accommodate my taste. Thx
Are there cruises that tend to have calmer seas, for those first-time cruisers. I know room selection is key, but more interested in particular cruises for first- timers.
As a general rule, the smaller the body of water the ship is in, the calmer the seas. I think the best would be a Mediterranean cruise, like Greece, Italy, Spain. Hawaii, or Alaska are more likely to be rough sailing. Also beware of the Caribbean during tropical storm season.
The Caribbean outside of hurricane season, especially in the Western Caribbean. Honestly, we have bought the patches and brought all of the tablets and the crystallized garlic ... And never needed it.
@@michaelnoris1443really, we have done Alaska 4 times and never once have we felt any movement at all. 2 were round trip Vancouver, 1 was round trip Seattle and 1 was a southbound from Seward to Vancouver. Months were June or July. I was a Travel Agent here in Vancouver for 30 years, and never had a client who said it was rough. The Alaska cruises are fairly close to shore though.
Soooo many video bloggers on Queen Anne who all of a sudden have become moderate drinkers of alcohol. Some even have "downgraded" to the cheapest cabin. I suspect all because they are having the fund the whole cruise out of their own pocket. (Like the rest of us Joe public.) The poor darlings, they must be suffering terrible. I can barely hold back the tears 😊.
@@trevorharrison29most of them pay their own way. Even travel agents very rarely ever get a free cruise, in 30 years of being a TA, I earned 1, a 7 night cruise for passing their exams, had to pay for hubby and the taxes.
@@chriswilliams6568having now seen many more videos of Queen Anne's maiden voyage, I haven't seen any videos from TAs. Only a few videos from mainstream video bloggers. It would seem the maiden voyage was highly priced, and, all videos made by people paying their own way.

Well spoken type of Brit? What you mean like the South African accent. 🤮 🤮 🤮 🤮

Another great Live, good to see both of you, a flash back that Intercontinental Sofia. Hugs to you both! First Seaborn for us in 2 weeks, excited!

I am looking forward to the differences and newness of QA.
I look forward to using the gym and thermal pool!
Extra- good q&a today!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for the video!
Glad it was helpful!

They seem to be ignoring solo travellers- no solo cabins.
Agreed, I will take my money, elsewhere.

Agree that the Queens Room is smaller and looks not as elegant. But I’m sure when I see it for myself it will look lovely!
They should delete "Queens" and just call it Room. It's a joke in comparison to the others. No idea why they did this.

Is there a good selection of food for a Vegan. We are in the Queens Room.

Do a river cruise, you won’t feel any movement then.

Whats this all about ...
Simply me being jealous of so many bloggers “travelling as guests of such & such cruise line”, travelling free of charge.
