  • We LOVE historical fiction in our house! It’s such a fabulous way to make history come alive and for kids to really remember key historical events.
    We ALSO love graphic novels.
    And my dyslexic kids … my visual learners … the ones who struggle to learn through just reading get so much out of graphic novels.
    Which is why I was THRILLED to find this series by Nathan Hale called Nathan Hale’s Hazardous Tales.
    This series combines solid history, fabulous graphics, and great sense of humor all in one.
    Each book is a treat -- and he is still coming out with new books. So far, the book series includes:
    One Dead Spy (Nathan Hale, American Revolutionary War)
    Big Bad Ironclad (American Civil War)
    Donner Dinner Party
    Treaties, Trenches, Mud, and Blood (World War I)
    The Underground Abductor (Harriet Tubman, Slavery)
    Alamo All Stars
    Raid of No Return (WWII)
    Lafayette (American Revolutionary War)
    Major Impossible (Wesley Powell, Exploration of the Grand Canyon)
    What do they look like inside? And which are our favorites? Check out the video to find out!

      That's good and though I can be wrong on this idea and it blows up in my face but may want to get this idea having it come to life in animated form not like the typical Saturday Morning Cartoons era since that is way too strict and dead plus it was an era before smartphones and Internet dominated but more like what Netflix is doing or animated parts of a different caliber anyway may want to get that idea out there.

      @@kellychuang8373 That's actually a great idea! I would love to see all of the characters, scenes, and constant puns (which are unfunny that they are funny) animated.

      @@heisernsu Thanks though that would be something and animation is really hard for those in it anyway really can spread the word about this idea maybe to some people who deal it and well Netflix is one maybe some others.

      @@kellychuang8373 getting a deal for netflix isn't the most easy thing to do, so if they cant i would say hire animators from smaller companies. but idk, thats my opinion

      Yes they are and the latest one dealt with the Louisianna Purchase and the events that helped it along like a slave revolt and Napoleon along with people that are way too overconfident with reality crashing in their faces named Blades of Freedom check that out. Also can be wrong but this series could be greater going for an animated series somewhere who knows that may make you think.

      Maybe Hulu or Netflix could go for this turning it into an animated series who knows but that would be something to see those tales come to life.

    Hi just wondering what curriculum did you use for social studies? My son is entering 5th grade and I know that 5 th is the revolutionary war or that era! Thank you for the tips❤️

      Actually - because of our state - I didn't use a curriculum. We watched Liberty Kids and read books. :)

    If you’re going to review books for families, you should mention something like NUDITY in them. I would not recommend these to families. Disappointed in the author.

    What age would you introduce ?

      I think any reader at an upper elementary level would be fine reading this. If they are a little sensitive about strong topics, you might want to preview first (as you would want to with any book!). If you are going to read with them, I would say 5+.

    Do you think it is important to read the series in order?

    • @homeschooltohomeschool
      @homeschooltohomeschool  4 года назад

      The very first one sets up the entire series. After that, I think you can read them in any order or skip one, and it will still make sense.

      Another part in reading this is who knows maybe this could be an idea on streaming services as an animated series. Anyway may want to get that around.

    • @kellychuang8373
      @kellychuang8373 3 года назад

      I really don't think about it that much but this series seems like it can be great as some animated series maybe Netflix, Hulu or some streaming service out there can get that and make it into something. May bomb as an idea but really seeing it come to life is an idea maybe really get that word out.

      Good to hear and really can go as a possibility if it was animated the stories in this really can go well in that.
