I am a licensed plumber. The plumber in the case ripped her off from the beginning. He knew full well that the pipe that was leaking was on the gas supplier's {Con Edison} side of the gas meter and yet he charged $2500 to re-tighten a fitting. Wow. Then he lies in his testimony saying that the plumbing contractor has to repair the piping on the gas supplier's side of the gas meter which is a lie. The gas meter and all the piping leading to the meter are the responsibility of Con Edison, NOT a customer. The piping on the house side of the gas meter are the home owner's responsibility, and he knew that. At 3:50 he states the the INLET pipe to the meter had the leak. He's a dishonest plumber and I hope he reads this comment. He lies and tells the judge that the INLET pipe to the gas meter is his job to repair. How did the judge not see through this lie later in the case is beyond me.
if it was outside and the supposed repair by the company was enough to fix the real problem, then how did the plaintiff smell the gas all the way from inside her apartment?
And we're supposed to just believe you're a license plumber and not a friend of hers, writing this comment to make her ridiculous court case seem sane ?
@maficworld3242... I've been on the Internet all day watching various cases and reading the comments, and your comment is by far the most ridiculous, unrealistic comment I've read all day and I've read some pretty crazy stuff😂

The resident is only responsible for issues at the outlet side and into the house line. Poor lady didnt know 😔
I've worked both sides as a contractor for the gas company and the customer side as a plumber and I don't see a scam here. What I do see is the utility made the original mistake and told her to call a plumber. He gets there and finds a tiny leak on the customer side which is "extremely common"! Usually those leaks are so small they are ignored or not noticed but after he noticed he's required to fix it or he becomes liable! After fixing that he tried to get the gas on but noticed the "plugs" in the line which at one time were probably allowed, grandfathered in or weren't noticed. If he applies for a permit to get her gas back on an inspection by the city happens and if they notice the plugs they won't approve it and require they be removed costing more days and cost of work. He tried to bypass that to benefit the customer not his own pocket! Those plugs are NOT a "safety issue"! Those plugs are a "theft issue" only! Many people don't realize that anywhere between 30% and 50% of all properties with natural gas piping older than 20 years has leaks inside and outside! Unless leaks are large or pose a significant danger they aren't ever fixed! Most gas companies do not profit from the natural gas itself but they do profit from the "service of the utility" and that part of your bill stays the same while the amount of gas and cost of the gas at time changes on every bill. Utilities are under corporation commission control and price setting. Money isn't there to replace old lines unless the corporation commission allows an increase and the cost would be enormous!

She should have filed the lawsuit against the Utility Company, not the plumber. She would have had a better chance. Utility companies will do everything they can to make sure it is not their responsibility, even when they know it is theirs. When you move into a place no matter if you're a renter or buyer, have the gas company sign off on it first to make sure it is within code. If it isn't, make the seller or the landlord make the necessary repairs at their cost. The story that she gave at first said that the gas company came out and told her to hire a licensed plumber. This is where the problem started. The gas company could have fixed it right away if it was a leak just at the inlet side of the meter. But if the gas company detected gas inside the house, it likely wasn't coming from the meter outside. It's possible if it's close to the house but in that case, it is still the failure of the gas company to check their side first and retest. They could have saved that woman a lot of hassle with competent and honest dealings.
Gas companies like Con Ed will do everything in their power to not pay or make gas line repairs. That is why most of them want you to buy insurance, which is separate from your monthly bill for situations like this. They want extra money for you so that is why they make up these rules where if it is within your property line it is your responsibility to have it fixed not theirs. Even though they are the ones who put the line in in the first place.
The plaintiff could've won easily if she had any proof. She had no call recordings or statements from ConEd. I believe the defendant was hustling her a bit but this case was a waste of time because it was all hearsay with 0 evidence
What you said makes no sense. The way it works gas company is liable upto the meter and home owner is liable after the meter. The gas company probably came out and so the meter was running implying a leak in the home. Granted the leak in the home may have been really tiny and the smell may have been coming from there end but once the gas is shut off everything automatically has to be tested and brought upto date. Chances are they had a guy come out saw leak he fixed it and another crew came out and found the one on service side which by that time they didn't see a leak because he had already fixed it and probably didn't realize what he was saying. The gas company should have also been the one to conduct the test but they were trying to make sure they could say it was not their problem. The gas company turned the gas off so there was no way of being to test in the house. Gas company scammed the both of them.

...I wonder why the judge didn't call the gas company. I'm beginning to think that the reality is that there are certain entities whose feet the judge refuses to step on. At first, I thought that I was just being bias because I too had an incident whereas a plumber may [or may not have] cheated me, but then I noticed the comment below and realized that a lot of people are thinking the same as me.
First off no one knew where leaks were The whole system needed to be checked to make sure there were no multipul leaks... and any violations corrected... Weather the inspector came in and made a detailed inspection Isn't important... That he could is all that matters He would watch the pressure gauge and made sure the pressure held Indicating there were no leaks.. At that time when repressuring the home.. The gas company found another leak on their side...
How could you go without hearing during winter for 30 days?? I think during my lifetime, I’ve been without heat for maybe 24 or 48 hours. I would have had to stay somewhere else until it was repaired.
In my city, water which is under the purview of the electric authority, is their problem up to the water meter. Beyond the meter it is the homeowner’s responsibility for repairs.
This lady is making stuff up as she goes.. There were leaks in the house that needed to be done, AND extra at the service..watch out for those dangerous plumbers🤦♂️ please🤡
WOW, what an expensive plumber. $2,500...what a rip off. I also had a plumber come to check for gas leaks. He tested the hot water system for leaks and using too much gas. Did the pressure testing at the meter and checked for leaks using soapy water. The plumber was licensed and is cost a whopping $190 for everything.
@@Grovel007 Yeah, I made that post before hearing that ConEd said that any leak from the property line all the way into the house was the responsibility of the home owner. I didn't hear enough of the testimony before making my post. How did you make out though? Do you think you were treated fairly? Was it expensive to fix?
You are right. A scammer is going to be a scammer, it doesn't matter what industry they're in. If they think they have someone who they can get, they're going to get them. If they think you know nothing about the problem or the parts, the work, and permits required... they will get you. Doesn't matter what your gender is.
Why did she not get a statement from the gas company?????? Sometimes, these judges dont listen. Of course he's okay he didn't get money ,he got his money when he scammed her.
The judge didn’t use to yell as much, and she has also become very rude, and short with the litigants to where she doesn’t let them talk. I wonder if she’s trying to be like Judge Judy to increase the ratings.
I don’t disbelieve the plaintiff. However, I’m not going to accept that the utility company wouldn’t supplies any documents of the issues and the services, rendered. That’s what she needed.
Anything from the road to the meter is the gas supplier issue (usually). Pipe from the meter going into the house and anything beyond that is houseowner issue to fix. If the plumber tried to fix issue on supplier side it means he tampered with their property and had no right to touch it. If he’s registered with the supplier as one of the plumbers they send out under contract and in that capacity tried to get money directly from the plaintiff then he’s a scammer and thief. And that would explain why the supplier was asking for documentation because that call for the job did not come directly to them. Very shady character!
She is trying to hold the wrong person accountable it is not the plumber that is in the wrong the plumber is doing his job and needs to see compensation to run his business, who she should be going after is Con Edison.

The gas company should have also been the one to conduct the test but they were trying to make sure they could say it was not their problem. The gas company turned the gas off so there was no way of being to test in the house. Gas company scammed the both of them.
What is mamma Joyce doing on here. Kandi come get your mom.
He was a con artist the judge was wrong. That gas leak was outside not inside. He ripped her off
This guy didn’t scam her. Do your research before accusing the man. He did the work, he just simply found another issue that had nothing to do with Con Ed.
Lol...the research....wtf are you talking about?
Damn judge u disappoint me here the plaintiff definitely got scammed smh
shes a judge. Evidence is required.
But she had no evidence she was scammed. I believe she was too but you need proof
I don't think Judge Milian gave her enough chance to explain
I've noticed she seems to do that a lot more now than when I watched years ago!!
The defendant looks like he is dressed in the 70's. Lol
Con Edison is “cons” like the defendant, the judge was unfair in this matter.
The color of the shirt is nice. The fit is off. Someone should’ve told this woman.
If she looked in the mirror she shoulda seen that
That's the real crime here 😭😂😅🙄
After she watches this, I'm sure it will be in the trash!
@@QueenASMR2019 double it, she's old
R Roberts 😂
I can tell she is from New York by the way she talks
That defendant is a freakin beefcake
@Jay Ro Even though he does dress like Mike Brady XD
@Jackson Heights TOTAL.
@@TRal55 one if the sexiest guys on the show 😍
100% I was thinking that too.. my goodness he's damn fine and could get it. 100 percent daddy 😍🥵
he's a plumber who could definitely lay pipe for me 😏
If you do nit get paperwork, you need to make a recording, simple
Who does Con Air think they are, not to give paperwork? And what a name for a company!
it's called conEd not con air lol but yeah they're a crappy company. i worked at one of their job sites as a fireguard for a little over 3 months a few years ago & it definitely wasn't a good experience. the higher up's within conEd were shady pieces of sh*t !
I always wondered where Joey Buttafuoco went. I guess he's now a plumber 🤣🤣🤣🤣
...I wonder why the judge didn't call the gas company.
First off no one knew where leaks were
The whole system needed to be checked to make sure there were no multipul leaks...
and any violations corrected...
Weather the inspector came in and made a detailed inspection
Isn't important... That he could is all that matters
He would watch the pressure gauge and made sure the pressure held
Indicating there were no leaks..
At that time when repressuring the home..
The gas company found another leak on their side...
How could you go without hearing during winter for 30 days?? I think during my lifetime, I’ve been without heat for maybe 24 or 48 hours. I would have had to stay somewhere else until it was repaired.
I've always been able to hear
Horribly loud judge
Harvey ain't fallin' for that set up.
I’d sure love to “cuddle” with the defendant! Woweeee 😋
omg me too! 😍 I need to find him
What a hunky daddy
I love judge Milian!!!! She is amazing....I watch judge Mathis and he is so dumb. Love you Milian!!!
The defendant in the first case is not entirely being honest
There’s only 1 case… what do you mean the defendant in the first case?
In my city, water which is under the purview of the electric authority, is their problem up to the water meter. Beyond the meter it is the homeowner’s responsibility for repairs.
Some plumbers take advantage of everyone.
I’ll just say this and be done with it.... All women aren’t victims or damsels in distress.
He just proved he DIDN'T deserve to be paid (at the end) ....smh disappointing
Yo it be tha man narrating the story in the beginning for me 😂😂😂😂
This lady is making stuff up as she goes..
I work in this industry and CoEdison is just as difficult on the internal side.. geesh!
I'm so glad I have a good plumber I trust.
Folks, find a good plumber before you need one! You'll be happy you did!
Doug just can’t wait to tell the litigants they lost and laugh at them smh lol
make her shut up already. As if he did no work to test the lines. LOL run Forrest, run.
$2,500 for THAT!?!!? @3:04 ... SCAM!!!!
Judge truly annoyed and irritated my very soul. I can’t believe she let this jerk get away with this!!!
She is so not hearing a thing she is saying and she wasn't buying his run around either !! She did not look happy at the end !!!🤑
She should have access to the con Edison project center online , all the proof is on there . The plumber should give her the credentials to log in
Everytime they say "con ed" take a shot lol
- drink responsibility
The judge did not listen to the plaintiff. He will get karma coming his way.
Somebody tell the narrator to calm down. It's like the intro to a fight game.
He totally sucks! When are they going to get rid of that terrible voice. I'm pretty sure it's Kurt, the old hallway guy
That’s Curt Chaplin (Leave Him the Hell Alone!!)
@@aaronbruceladner1983 exactly
🤣🤣🤣🤣
She should be suing the utility company
I don't think Judge was fair this time 😕
And this is why you should use electric home appliances (stove/oven, hot water heater, clothes dryers) avoid all this hassle
"Do you?"
How is that an answer to what she said, Harvey? No wonder she's confused, it's like she said "Hello" and you said "fine thanks."
Not every county and state has the same rules dealing with energy companies
Who calls a plumber first for a gas leak? You need to first contact the gas company since that is a serious situation.
Bishop545454 the exact same thing happened at my house. We had to hire a plumber as well.
Bishop545454 we called our home owners insurance. They did everything including hiring a plumber. Gas was off for three days.
@@Grovel007 Awesome, glad it wasn't a very stressful situation.
That’s a ridiculous questions and answers about women.
Hated the answers
I hope the plaintiff sees these comments! SHE WAS RIPPED OFF! She should sue CON-ED! That guy is a criminal
I would rule against her just because she kept saying “no” while the judge was talking.
People need to go to a more serious court. The guy had evidence and explained everything right… he should of gotten something
There’s that flapping gums comment again!?!
And ? That's what shes doing
She's been saying that for years!
RichardDEAN??? LORD! Ppl PLS stop adding these daddys names in these folks names lmao😂ijs!!!
Harvey shouldn't have just interviewed women when he asked that question, that's BS on his part.
You are right. A scammer is going to be a scammer, it doesn't matter what industry they're in. If they think they have someone who they can get, they're going to get them. If they think you know nothing about the problem or the parts, the work, and permits required... they will get you. Doesn't matter what your gender is.
JM got that one WRONG!!!!!
This woman is such a SCAMMER. why did he even work for her.. He needs to be more selective.
the Plaintiff should be more selective in people he works for..
Always love the do you workmen take advantage of women question... do strippers take advantage of men question needs to be answered also! 😅😂
Daddy defendant 🥵
Where’s Adrian holding up his race card? 😂😂😂😂
Why did she not get a statement from the gas company?????? Sometimes, these judges dont listen. Of course he's okay he didn't get money ,he got his money when he scammed her.
IMO> I'd be dammed if I would allow anyone to use a pipe that caused the leak, to be reused? It should have been replaced, PERIOD!
Kwasi A King she can always ask for something in writing of what they did
@@caroljohnston5677 But she won't always get it.
HARVEY,, stop asking those sexist questions.. it's 2024!!!! OMG,
He is wrong about the gas company. The gas company puts in the gas meters. Anything outside beyond the meters, is the gas company program.
Anyone else getting a Joey Gladstone vibe from this defendant?
